Today was surprisingly wonderful.
I had my geology field trip, which was an hour hike on Frenchman Mountain. We saw the Great Unconformity (which includes rocks also seen in the Grand Canyon). Two hours later, I was in a hot yin yoga class which was 100 degrees and 40% humidity. The sweat was REAL.
And then I came home and ran 3 miles. Talk about endorphins.

Yesterday I ran a half marathon PR and then two miles to make it 15.1 miles for the day. Then I went to see Bon Jovi. It was totally amazing!
But last year, I ran this same race at 2:56:46. I was devastated by the end and I gave up. I just wanted it to be over.
This year, I ran the race at 2:37:13 which is a 2+ minute PR. I ran a GREAT race, fueled properly & everything just came together. I finished so happy and proud of myself. All I could think is, “This is what running is all about.” Swipe right to see my dad running me in to the finish last year! 🧡

I ran the big hill behind my house. It was a gorgeous day, and I enjoyed myself. I’m going to hot yoga later & I’m so excited to get my stretch on!

I absolutely loved this 3 mile run. My legs feel much better & the weather was absolutely amazing! Plus my Oiselle runner trucker hat is the best running hat I’ve ever owned! Just wearing it makes me super happy, plus it’s YELLOW, what’s not to love?? 🌻💛 #NeverMissAMonday

Absolute bliss of 4.73 recovery miles today. ❤️

Views from today’s trail race. I didn’t finish, I decided to put the brakes on since my marathon next month is my goal race. My legs are bricks but I’m hoping to do 10 miles tomorrow in addition to the 11.72 miles for today.

Flight got cancelled today so we’re playing around in 30A instead. 🌸

Sun was bright & my heart is happy. Spent a couple of hours at the beach after my run this morning, it was much needed. 🧡🧡

#tbt to my first trail race last April! Lots of #gains since then & I’m excited for my next race in a few weeks. ❤️

Some days I need a reminder that I can do hard things. I am a MARATHONER.
I ran a mile this morning (hoping for more later—we’ll see how today goes). My legs are sore from my workout yesterday #nopainnogain. Happy Tuesday! ❤️ Tomorrow I’ll be on a plane back to Panama City!!
