Alliance of Moms loves Tory Burch because she works tirelessly to support the empowerment of women everywhere. The Tory Burch Foundation's #EmbraceAmbition campaign this year was inspiring, as Tory gathered the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Yara Shahidi, and Jamie Lee Curtis to encourage women to embrace their own ambition and follow their dreams. She does all of this…and she’s a mom. #motherlover

Alliance of Moms loves Oprah Winfrey because of her dedication to education, as education is integral to our work with our teen parents. Ten years ago, she established the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa, affording its students an extraordinary educational experience they would not have had otherwise. While Oprah does not have biological children, she refers to all of the girls at the Academy as her daughters. Therefore, she does all of this…and she’s a mom. #motherlover

Alliance of Moms loves Isabel Allende because of her efforts to secure reproductive rights, economic independence, and freedom from violence for women and girls. She developed the Isabel Allende Foundation to this end, awarding grants to likeminded organizations in California and Chile. The Foundation was created in honor of Isabel’s late daughter Paula to allow her generous and compassionate spirit to live on. Isabel’s dedication to women and girls in the name of her own daughter is admirable. She does all of this…and she’s a mom. #motherlover

#fbf It’s been two months and we still can’t stop talking about Babyccino’s ShopUp event. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of the day! The Springs was the perfect venue for some of our favorite brands like Artifact Uprising, Bear & Bud Book Club, Tribe West, and Rose & Rex to share their incredible products for mamas and their littles. #theshopupla 📷: @artifactuprising

#VroomTip: What Is That Job?⠀
Ask your child what he/she thinks about certain jobs. “Why do you think the mail carrier likes his/her job? Why wouldn’t he/she like his/her job?” Tell him/her what you think. Then have your child ask you about another job. Go back and forth sharing the pros and cons.⠀

When your child is thinking about pros and cons, he/she is putting himself/herself in another person’s position, which builds perspective-taking skills. Perspective taking is important in healthy relationships and in communication.
