Love comes in many flavors. This Pride Month, ENLIGHTENED will donate $1 for every LIKE (up to $5,000) to the @aliforneycenter in NYC. 🌈 AFC provides aid to LGBTQ youth facing homelessness. Last day to LIKE is Saturday, June 30th. #pride

Last night our youths, staff, allies, and advocates celebrated the passing of a City Council bill that will raise the age we can house young people to 25 years old.

While this law won’t go into effect for several months, the countless hours spent rallying, testifying, and imploring government officials to help our youths in crisis stand as a testament to the power of our voices to change the world.

@jasoncollins_98 and a handful of his @nba colleagues visited our young people today for a lively discussion on careers in the sports industry. We are filled with gratitude for the kindness, love, and guidance they’ve shown our youths.
Meeting the first openly gay NBA player in history was a special moment for our clients that showed them they can be successful as their authentic selves in any industry.

Our Astoria housing site, which accommodates 20 LGBT young people every night, has been transformed by the generosity of New York-based design firm @scpdesign.

The team at Sean Carlson Perry and Design Exchange, which gives redesigned and furnished spaces to the underserved in NYC, created a community area in our Astoria site that uses ambient light, clean lines, and ample storage space for our clients to unwind and enjoy themselves.

We are immensely grateful to @scpdesign and Design Exchange for their hard work, love, and generosity.

The record cold in NYC means our clients on the streets need extra protection. Chapsticks, thermals, and socks are a few everyday items that we need at our sites this week.

Please consider donating these items via our Amazon Wish List to help our young people stay warm and healthy this winter.

The Ali Forney Center is honored to have hosted the first National Technical Assistance Conference for homeless LGBT youth services providers from across the country. It was a tremendously inspiring event, bringing together wonderful people dedicated to protecting and empowering our homeless youth.

@troyesivan is using his pop-star megaphone to be a voice for the @aliforneycenter's young people. We are incredibly grateful to Troye and @teenvogue for helping our youths tell their stories and inspire people worldwide to give back.

Watch Troye's powerful and sobering discussion with some of AFC's Youth Advocates, and learn how you can help homeless LGBTQ young people in your area. Full video on

A very special thanks to makeup master @sirjohnofficial, @teenvogue, and @pfpicardi for lending their time and talent to host a beauty school workshop for our young people!

Now more than ever it's important for our youths to feel comfortable in their skin and let their inner and outer beauty shine through.

Had so much fun sharing Thanksgiving at the Ali Forney Center in Brooklyn! This center protects LGBT Youth from the harms of homelessness and empowers them to reclaim their lives. Each year the Ali Forney Center provides care for over 1,200 youth who are rejected by their family due to their LGBT identity. AFC provides these youth with tools they need to become independent and more importantly, AFC provides these youth with the love and support they are denied by their families. Because everyone deserves to be loved and everyone deserves a home. 💘🙏🏻💙!!!

A message from @aliforneycenter Executive Director Carl Siciliano.

From the entire AFC family, thank you to everyone who attended #APAT2016! The work we do would not be possible without generous supporters like you.
