Monday morning oil change. Taking care of business and dying over a gif @katiejaeger just sent me of a guy waking up in the morning and basically pouring an entire giant cup of coffee over his head. Because, truth. Happy Monday!

Third row girls. Heading to the pumpkin patch.

I first heard about this book on the "Feel Good Effect Podcast” (@realfoodwholelife) where @katefagan3 spoke about a bunch of different topics related to the heartbreaking story of the life of Madison Holleran: social media, perfectionism, college athletics, depression & anxiety, suicide, expectations (the ones we place on ourselves and the ones others place on us) and transitions (among other things). This book totally made me think and reflect about all of those pieces in a variety of different ways in my own life. It made me think back to my own experience as a Division 1 athlete (swimming) and my transition from home to freshman year of college and how utterly exhausted I was which led me to quit after my freshman year (and how crazy my life was that first year of freedom with athletics, academics, and social stuff). It made me think about my own periods of anxiety and depression throughout my life - and mental health in general - and that very fine line between being okay and not being okay. It also really made me take a closer look at my own experience with social media and ask myself some hard questions about my own personal "whys" in terms of how our stories are told and the ways in which we choose to tell them. I really enjoyed @katefagan3's discussions regarding this topic and am interested in reading more from her. I think this is a super important read especially for parents and for student athletes - for awareness and compassion and a very hard look at the expectations we place on ourselves and others. #aereads2017

Super thankful for all the time that Chris has put into Scouting activities for Simon - camping and hiking and backpacking and meetings. Love getting a glimpse of their adventures like this ❤️. #gosimongo

This month in the Story Theme Classroom we are talking about stories related to the word "Best." Come read more about the Story Kit™, the Story Stamp™ and the Digital Story Kit™ subscriptions on my blog today. Link in profile: http://bit.ly/AEbest #craftthestory

Today // we’ve entered the dark mornings & grey days & rainy season // Simon taking the PSAT // saying goodbye to RideAble (the place where Simon rides horses) because they need a new barn location and have to close for awhile // pork tenderloin for dinner // blessing of the pets at Anna’s school but the cats don’t travel well // working on stories for the “best” story theme & getting ready to welcome the next round of people for Story Camp next week // hoping for a yoga class tonight ❤️

So sometimes, when my list of things “to do” is long, I get really motivated to tackle other projects 😂. In this case I spent a couple hours last night and this morning printing out all my photos to get me up-to-date in #projectlife. The first half of this year (through June) is complete so I was working on printing photos from July through last weekend. They are now all snuggly tucked in their pockets and when my to do list is a little shorter I can start the process of getting down the words. Now back to my list! #craftthestory PS // I put together a quick blog post that talks about what printers I use. Link in profile: https//aliedwards.com/2017/10/printers

Printing photos and writing stories today (working on content for the next Story Theme: Best). Still so love full page photos whether 6x12, 6x8, 12x12, etc. #craftthestory

Reading together in my bed for the win. // These are the kinds of moments I want to remember and the kinds of stories I want to tell - the little ones, the Sunday evenings, the stuff of our everyday lives.

Love fall mornings around here. Thinking about how I need to do an “around here” write up to capture a little more about life right now for my blog - it’s been way too long.

Finished up “Startup” tonight and moving on to “Beasts Of Extraordinary Circumstance” next. #aereads2017 //
