As I rode home on the airplane from visiting my Gram for her 90th birthday I was overwhelmed thinking about how precious time is and wondering when I will see my Gram again. It seems to me that all too often we wait for memories to be created and before we know it, a new wrinkle has formed on our face and another year is gone. But as I looked through my pictures from the past 1.5 years a tear of joy strolled down my face. Time was not wasted and memories were made and many of the people I love were celebrated. And that’s what life, as far as I’m concerned, is all about.
Pic 1: Dan and I travelled to Naples to be with Gram on her 90th birthday, meeting all of the amazing people in the life she as built in Florida over the last 30 years (bar tenders, neighbors, her pastor and friends at church and her favorite server Dodie who even came to dinner with us on our last night.) Pic 2: Mom’s 60th Birthday when we surprised her with a trip to Chico. Her best friends, siblings, nephew, husband and daughters all traveled to spend a weekend celebrating with her. (This is the picture of her finding out who was coming to her birthday party)
Pic 3: Dan’s 30th Birthday in Driggs Idaho. Many of our friends and family members joined us to be a part of the ski-trip celebration.
Pic 4: Dad’s 60th Surprise Birthday Party in Bozeman. He thought he was just coming for a weekend visit, but another 15 friends and family members showed up from all over the place for a Chicago Cub Bday weekend. (The cubs would go on to win the World Series this year)
Pic 5: Granny’s 80th Surprise party in Cody where all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered to celebrate one very special lady.
Pic 6: Amy and my sister trip to San Fran and the Redwood Forest to celebrate her birthday. An unbelievable and unforgettable sister adventure
