What’s your favorite row variation? Mine is either bent over dumbbell rows or cable rows. I just love how those movements activate my back. They feel so fluent and just allow me to fully connect with my back muscles while doing them.

What motivates you to workout? Is it because you want to look better, compete, get girls, etc. Im curious, let me know down below! I started lifting because I knew it would help me boost my confidence. Now I continue to do it because I find it to be therapeutic. It’s a stress reliever for me.

Dumbbells or barbell, which do you prefer for your chest press? I personally go with dumbbells because I believe that they are better for building my pec muscles. With the dumbbells, I can feel that my chest is much more activated while I do them, and can get a much better range of motion with them. I also like how I can push myself much more with them. Once I fail I can just drop them. You can’t do that with a barbell because if you don’t have a spotter it will be stuck on your chest lol

On a side note, I’m back up to my normal weight around 185lbs. I’m starting to get all my strength back and it felt good lifting the 110 lbs dumbbells again 💪🏼

I want to share a funny story with you guys. Exactly two years ago I was listening to an interview with a bunch of old school classic bodybuilders. They were saying how they would spend like 2 hours in the sun everyday to make their physiques look better. They would rub coconut oil on themselves because it made their skin tighter. They said it made their skin look like plastic wrap, and that made their muscles pop out more. So your boy thought that sounded like a good idea, and decided to go to the beach and rub coconut oil all over his body. I ended up falling asleep with it on and woke up to the smell of my skin burning. I literally cooked myself, it was the worse burn I have ever experienced. Like it so bad I even debated going to the ER for it. Now I try tan with it on for 10-15 minutes, not the full 2 hours. Let me know some stupid shit you have done, comment it down below lol!

Ever try single arm preacher curls? This is one of my favorite exercises for biceps because it’s great for heightening the peak! These really allow me to focus and connect with my biceps. Also when I do these I never let my arm fully extend because I want to keep constant tension on my bicep. Just make sure when you do these that you do the same number of reps for each arm!

Do you view bodybuilding as an art? I believe that looking at it from an artistic perspective greatly helped me. I have always strived for symmetry, and always had an image of end result. I even create my diets and workouts based off of it. All I’m saying is if you start bodybuilding, have an image and goal in your head. That image and goal will give you direction, without it you will be lost.

On a side note, which one do you prefer... colored or black and white? I just love this picture because it looks like it’s from the 1960’s -

Having trouble growing your shoulders? If so, you probably aren’t fully controlling the weight. There should always be constant tension during the eccentric and concentric movement, especially during raises. A problem I had was when I first started lifting I always thought going heavier was better. So I was that jackass in the gym dangerously swinging around the weight just to try and raise them. I quickly learned my lesson though because doing that caused me to pull a few muscles. All I’m saying is to always make sure your form is good, and if it’s not please don’t be afraid to decrease the weight. You only have one body, so start lifting smarter.

That face you make when you’re trying to diet and your friends make pizza rolls

On a real note, I’ve decided that I’m not going to compete again until next summer. The next time I step on stage I want to truly bring something special, and to confidently believe I can win the overall. To do that I need to focus more on bringing up my weak points. I’m going to continue working on my overall symmetry, but the body parts that I’m going to put a little more emphasis on will be my legs and abs

I plan on staying shredded and dieting until November because I want continue producing content and growing my platforms. Let’s be honest, being lean is just way more marketable. Then during the winter months I’m going to go full bear mode and start lean bulking. -

Now that you heard my plan, let me hear yours. I’m curious to see what guys have coming up!

Just want to say thank you to Alice for everything she does for me and keeping me in line. I look forward to spending many more years with you, and am excited to see what our future holds. Happy anniversary:)

Having trouble growing your traps? I use to have the hardest time growing mine because I was never able to activate them while doing shrugs. Whenever I did them standing with dumbbells I would always end up cheating because they would slide against my sides. Then when I would do them with a barbell it just never felt right for me. Once I started doing them sitting down though, I was able to significantly improve my trap game. I just love doing this specific workout because the dumbbells don’t rub against my side and I can get a deeper stretch. When doing these: pull your shoulders back, make sure you get a deep stretch, and squeeze at the top for 2 seconds. Let me know if you already do this, and please share this with anyone you think should read this!

I’ve noticed that whenever someone asks a fitness or health related question they are looking for one short answer. Unfortunately, there is never a quick fix or short cut and all the answers consist of a few different aspects. Something every answer has in common, though, is consistency. The majority of the time, the simple stuff is what actually works, but you just have to be consistent with it. Something that has helped me be consistent is creating a “POWER LIST” every night of the things I want to accomplish and get done the next day. I’m realistic with myself and only write down things I know I will be able to get done. The trouble I had at the beginning with this is that I would try and bite off more than I could chew. For example, I would write way too much down, and found that just lead to me to doing a little bit of everything and I never actually completing a single one. So now I only write down tasks I know I can complete. Then overtime, tasks that I have originally written down each day such as “do fasted cardio, workout after class, etc..” soon became a habit. I then don’t write those on my list because I already do them anyways, and then I’m able focus on other tasks I want to complete. My advice is that if you don’t already, try creating this list every night. Start off slow and then eventually build your way up. It can change your habits and life more than you know. Please tag or share this with anyone who you think can benefit from reading this:)
