For me I learned this lesson during my attempt earlier this year to get lean and stay lean at a low body fat.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I knew that if I wanted to BE someone with a low body fat year round that I needed to ACT like that someone first. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that’s exactly what I did!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Daily cardio, prioritizing my workouts in the early morning, constant monitoring my carb intake, going to sleep a little on the empty side, ordering lite at restaurants, no back to back cheat days, no unhealthy food with alcohol.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Be the person first and you will become the person next #MotivationMonday

It’s not about the big moves we make HERE AND THERE but the small, seemingly trivial moves, we make on a MOMENT TO MOMENT BASIS 💯.

And my client harry is perfect example of that. He took charge of his fitness life and made it a priority. Not just SOME of the time.... but ALL of the time! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ From a sedentary lifestyle to training doing cardio, following a strategic meal plan, and NOT giving in to temptation each day.

Not just some days or most days but EVERY day! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All while juggling the daily trials and tribulations of life, might I add 💁🏽‍♂️.

❌THE VALUE OF SILENCE❌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most of us don’t like silence, because it forces us to confront ourselves. And sometimes what we find staring back isn’t exactly what we thought.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We can be afraid of silence, because we equate silence with insignificance. We want to be heard and seen by people. Feel that dopamine rush when someone gives us praise.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The desire to make ourselves feel relevant can be very strong. But in our questto be heard and noticed by others we often drown out our inner voice.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re constantly in search of something we already have. We already have everything we truly need within us. The peace we seek is not out there somewhere. It’s in the here and now, in this moment, within us.

If you want to know yourself, turn off the T.V., the radio, the internet and therunning dialogue in your head. Go to a quiet place and spend time alone. This is where you’ll meet yourself and learn what’s truly important to you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While sitting in silence we can hear and see things we otherwise wouldn’t, and our desires become few and simple. We find our inner voice of contentment and realize that we’re already everything we need to be. Silence helps bring us back to a place of rest and clarity within, away from the noise of the world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Guard this space in your schedule. It’s more important than anything you do, because it’s from there that you’ll find the strength, purpose and self-composure to be a better person for yourself and for others.

Like sleeping, brushing your teeth, eating, going to work and exercise, we need time for silence in our day. We need time in our day to cultivate silence so we can bring it with us into our daily actions and live with a sense of peace, even in the midst of stressful circumstances.

More times than not I have to force myself to wake up in the mornings.

I do struggle with motivation.

I do have bad days, bad weeks, and shit even bad months.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Becoming accepting of this truth has been one of the hardest things for me to do.

These days social media has made it so easy for us to portray a FALSE life.

And I’ve been guilty of it too....

The moments when I’m not feeling so glamorous is when you’ll notice my posting frequency go down and my stories to be less interesting.

Heck even the picture I’m posting with this caption is not current because frankly my body isn’t as nice and crispy as I’d like at the moment and i get insecure about myself when I don’t have a 6-pack. 🤷🏽‍♂️

....... anyways not entirely sure where I’m going with this 😭.

BUT ITS THE TRUTH!!

This was the first time I saw all the sponsored athletes/fitness model guys up close and in person.

I automatically knew this was where I NEEDED to be.

In this picture I was talking to @maxthebody and he put me on the MINDSET needed about what it takes to develop your body to highest level.

And I listened....

If I had not gone to that expo at that specific point in my life I can’t 100% say I would have chosen the fitness industry to build a carrier in.

I can’t say how much I’ve learned from both of these highly intelligent people. Spending time around Dr. Huge @enhancedathlete and Coach Trevor gave me tons of experience as a coach and as an entrepreneur. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As humans we learn the fastest through Osmosis (the process of gradual or unconscious assimilation of ideas, knowledge, etc.).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A lot of people don’t know this but I lived in a house with these two for 8 months and got to observe their behavior around the clock. I got to see first hand how a company goes from making a couple thousand a week to over a million a week. I saw how coach Trevor handled his high profile clients and much more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During those months I had a huge mental growth spurt. Books are awesome, seminars are great, courses can be life changing, but nothing tops having a live coach/mentor. You will learn at least 5x faster than trying trail and error all on your own. “A single conversation across the table with a wise man is better than ten years mere study of books.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

❌ PRINCIPLED DIETING ❌ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In both videos I did not follow any kind of meal plan, was eating out, occasional alcohol, lots of sushi, minimal gear. The difference between my shredded self and chubby self were the principles that I used to make my eating decisions throughout the day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Keep in mind many of these principles would be the same for other people too but they are made for me as an individual based on my personality and relationship to food, fitness, and self-image.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- No food 1 hour before bed
- No carbs 3 hours before bed (unless I had a late night workout)
- Never skip cardio ensuring I start the day with a deficit
- Carb deplete at least 2 days prior to a cheat meal/day
- No back to back cheat meals or days
- Make sure to eat out with friends at least 2 times a week (my social life keeps me happy)
- Eat slowly (this one is big!)
- Stop eating when full and just save the food for later
- No sugary cocktails (vodka club soda 30cals) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s a few more but you get the idea. For me, I get stressed out eating the exact same thing everyday because I enjoy food and love trying different restaurants. At this point it’s all about lifestyle and finding a way of eating you can stick to year round 😇.

I feel like this angle puts a lot of load on my elbow joints especially when the weight get heavier! So I use the resistance pulley and it makes a world of difference on the joints! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
