I'm most inspired and satisfied when in the company of strong womxn, which I'm lucky enough to say is my every day reality. But the strongest I've known and unfortunately cannot see every day are the ones in my family.
Soon after our ages in this photo, my little sisters and I all started shearing our hair and Em keeps it shaved/short to this day. Not that having "boy" hair and dressing like one makes you strong, but we couldn't stand the stereotypes and expectations put on us as "girls" and if it meant being mistaken as boys most of the time, we were okay with it. I've never met anyone that gave less of a fuck than my sisters. Never met anyone that held more strength and stubbornness but also more softness and compassion. My sisters will always be #1 to me and when I told them that if anyone ever hurt them, I would fuck that person up beyond belief, they just said "we know."
