Briana Kazhe-Dominguez is on track to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health and a double minor in Psychology and Statistics this fall! Representing the Mescalero Apache, Cheyenne-Arapaho, Choctaw and Gros Ventre nations; Briana will be spending her final semester completing field experience at a Native health agency in the metro area. Briana’s destress song is ‘Feel It Still’ by Portugal and her favorite movie is the Dark Knight. Jayth Benally (Navajo) is from small community known as Iyanbito, New Mexico. He’s currently a senior working on his Civil Engineering degree. Jayth’s hero & motivator is his grandmother, who he says also happens to make the best frybread! If you ask Jayth what his favorite cultural activity is, his response is always: “eating”! #AISB17 #NativesInEducation

Hey there #Lobos! Did you know the American Indian Summer Bridge Program is about to begin its 19th year?! #AISB17 has kicked off with its Student Leadership Team Training. This rock star team has been receiving all the information to become the best and brightest when supporting the incoming 2017 AISB cohort. Spend the week getting to know these outstanding students when they take over @aissunm Snapchat beginning tomorrow. Meet the Team (L to R): Cody Jeff is beginning his work towards a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Strategic Management and Policy. He can be found munching on his mother’s frybread or at Little Anita’s. Cody plans to work in both the public and private sector in regards to policy development. When asked, what Star Wars character he relates to the most, Cody would say Darth Revan.

Iyona Freeland is working on her Criminology & Psychology degree. She plans to attend law school before returning to her home community in St. Michaels Arizona to improve the justice system. Iyona’s motivation is her family and herself. A piece of advice Iyona leaves is “strive to do and be your best and success is in arms reach”. Tia Curley joins the AISB team from Kirtland, New Mexico. This senior is working towards her International Studies degree and plans to work for the Navajo Nation when she graduates. Tia finds motivation from her son, Theron and enjoys learning about the Navajo history and government. Get to know more about Tia tomorrow when she takes over Snapchat!

Ivan Rajen employs a trusty combination of water and coffee to get him through his senior year. This Physics major is motivated by his desire to “hone a skill and create” - which plays a hand in his career goal plans of contributing to the development of a great piece of art or new technology. Ivan’s touts one of his heroes as Olympic Weightlifter Clarence Kennedy. Check Ivan out on Thursday during his takeover
