#FlowIntoInversions Day 8. Scorpion handstand πŸ¦‚πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™€οΈ. I received these beautifully crafted blocks from @kimberscanes And wanted to try flowing with them!! This is my first time trying that and, well, maybe I shouldn't have chosen scorpion legs πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, but I really wanted to give it a go. I had loads of fun, but as you can see not the best bend in my back. That's ok, because I had to do this many many times and got a good workout!! Nothing like a little fear factor to get the heart rate up!πŸ˜œπŸ˜†πŸ’—

Pose of the Day: When I want to do my best wheel I ALWAYS do some camel poses first. For my pic I have one arm raised, but I did several and like to have variations. I'll post a video tomorrow! My kapo is a work in progress...I can only reach my toes using a wheel. But I'm getting closer and it's less alarming πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. .
Warm up Drills: YOU HAD BETTER do all the stretches from the days before! Ha! In this video I included more of the stretches I like with blocks and wheel. Maybe there is something that grabs your attention. I REALLY like reclining over blocks because I can hold that for several minutes. That's a great one if you don't have a wheel. And if you don't have a block...find something you can extend over and maybe pad it with a towel (pot, book, box). .

Today we ask for your standing backbend. I used to hate this pose. For realz. I found it worse than wheel for some reason. I don't have a still pic for you today. Instead I showed my real time standing backbend and drop back. During your standing backbend (hands on hips or at heart or sliding down your hamstrings) think abs in, hip bones foreword, chest UP towards sky. Only then do I bend backwards. See if you can stay for a few breaths and maybe take it further. Even tho your bending back, still think up with the chest! If dropping back is in your practice go for it! .
Pose of the Day: Standing backbend or possibly drop back into wheel. .
Warm up Drills: Days 1-4 and wall stretches. πŸŽ₯: My favorite shoulder stretch! Use the wall anywhere anytime!! Walk down the wall partially or all the way to wheel. I like to pause along the way and really push away from the wall to stretch. .
