"Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does." Thank you #fivelements, for an unforgettable experience (more on stories).

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

"Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift."

"In abeyance" captures the moment in between breaths and stillness. A series of classical modern photographs transposed onto the lineage of Renaissance aesthetic. Ephemeral subjects translate from the mundane to the iconic and become an intentional artifact that situates the viewer in a moment of placelessness.

The sky grew darker, painted blue on blue, one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night.

A glimpse of stillness.

Today, on International Women's Day, I'm one of 40 female photographers @UNFPA has selected to share an image that celebrates women. I chose to represent a free woman surrounded by nothing but her strong self and the color red. This is a warm color that is associated with our physical needs and our will to survive, with power and courage. Love and joy. But it is also the color of anger and violence. Us, women, are constantly fighting a battle, and our choices are relentlessly taken away from us, undermined or undervalued. This needs to change. Our bodies, our minds, our rights, our choices. Let's stand together to fight for equality. "I raise up my voice—not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard” #UNFPA40x40 #WomensDay

A pile of art.
