#prayforparis πŸ‡«πŸ‡· These attacks are so frightening. Who is behind this? We are praying for those who have lost their lives and those who need protection from these monsters. This was the latest I read on @bbcnews " #France has declared a national state of emergency and has closed its borders after scores of people were killed in multiple gun and bomb attacks in #Paris . At least 100 people are reported to have died at the #Bataclan concert hall in central Paris. Gunmen took many hostages there before being overpowered when police stormed the building. Others died in a reported suicide blast near the #StadedeFrance and gun attacks on city centre restaurants. Paris residents have been asked to stay indoors and about 1,500 military personnel are being deployed across the city." πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ˜”πŸ™

Now, of course I purchased @overcomingtheoddsbook after reading the sample and following the author, Dr. Webb an inspiring Orthopaedic Surgeon. Reading it now even though I have to be in the OR at 7am for a couple of hours and the #Orthopaedics lab for the rest of the day. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’‰πŸ˜·

Happy Father's Day!!! When you think about it...we are all winners. Unmatched determination and resilience, unless you're a twin. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ #fathersday #youreawinner

Has anyone been denied by the Fee Assistance Program (FAP)? I myself did not use the program but came across a legal complaint someone tried to file against the #AAMC (@aamctoday) because they were denied FAP. The applicant was a 30-year old non-traditional student who was married to another non-traditional student applying to #medschool . The two are full-time #premeds and have been unemployed and living solely off of #studentloans . They were denied FAP because of their parents income. If you applied for FAP and were denied, share your comment on #FutureMD blog! ((LINK IN BIO)) I want to petition for revised eligibility requirements similar to the #osteopathic med school app fee assistance program (applicants do not have to include their parents tax info).

Paralyzed woman walks again with 3D-printed robotic exoskeleton. "3D Systems, in collaboration with Ekso Bionics, has created a #3Dprinted robotic exoskeleton that has restored the ability to walk in a woman paralyzed from the waist down. The Ekso-Suit was trialled and demonstrated by Amanda Boxtel, who was told by her doctor that she’d never walk again after a skiing accident in 1992." (Read More on Gizmag.com)

#KidneyStone . Coloured urogram (X-ray) of the abdomen of a 39 year old male patient, showing a kidney stone lodged in a ureter. The ureters join the kidneys (red, upper left and right) to the #bladder (bottom centre, dark green). A dye (green) highlights the tree-shaped #renal pelvis of each kidney and the long ureters. One eighth the way down the ureter at upper left is a clear space where a kidney stone (calculus) is blocking the ureter. #Kidneystones form when salts in the urine precipitate and harden. Blockage of the ureter can cause pain and #kidney damage. The stone can be surgically removed or broken up by #lithotripsy . (Photo: Unknown photographer | Img/Info: FineArtAmerica)
