[Link in Bio] I'm pleased to announce I'm running for Vancouver City Council. I'm looking forward to hearing from each of you in the run up to this Fall's election.
Let's fix housing, together.

Sunset over downtown Vancouver just now. We had a gorgeous Family Day biking with kids to English Bay. What'd everyone get up to?

As a kid, I never had such an epic gaming venue. Nor did I have such proximity to my ride or die gaming bff, like my middle kid does. It was always a drive to his house, not a few block walk. Online sandbox worlds where my friends and I could gather and dream up games of our own until all hours of the night? Not a thing either. Sure, I designed boardgames and built forts with my one friend until he had to go home for dinner. But my dad still poo-pooed the time I spent on a computer as a kid - until I grew up to be a game designer, that is. I didn't know that's what I wanted to be, I just followed my childhood passions. So spare the youngest generation your pity, quit demeaning their online habits and elevating your own upbringing as a model childhood. These kids are chasing their dreams and neither you nor they know what their future holds. Because whatever it is, I guarantee they'll be more ready for the future than you. #gaming #vr #minecraft #roblox #games #online #esports

In @moneymag this month, @michaelbyers - a Canadian artist from Hamilton, Ontario - did this amazing feature illustration of our family. The detail he captured: from my receding hairline, to my daughter's exact outfit and bike, to our condo's contents - is just so great. Check out his work on his portfolio site... he's done a tonne of hugely compelling work, with a signature style that can make even boring dudes like me seem interesting. So touched by this!

We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feeling okay this morning
And you know
We're on the road to paradise

Readying the condo for tonight's festivities with kids. I think I forgot the "E" in NYE, so perhaps we're just celebrating the state of New York. Regardless, Happy New Year's, everyone!

Looking good, Vancouver.

Gorgeous ride around the Seawall this morning with four of my nerds. My legs are dead and I can't feel my toes due to freezing temperatures, but well worth it. Kids had a great time. Love cargo bikes, wish I had my own.

My non-profit housing advocacy group, @abundanthousingvancouver, co-hosted an event with Generation Squeeze last week. Over 60 young Vancouverites came out to learn how to speak at City Council hearings and hear our stance on the City's new 10 year housing plan. The plan goes to council tonight, and speakers should be heard starting tomorrow. Get involved!

I'm honoured to receive the 2017 IV Prize at this year's @interestingvancouver event, for my work with @abundanthousingvancouver, advocating for more homes for more people in Metro Vancouver.
We've got a lot further to go, but the encouragement of such a great event and people means a lot. Expect to hear from me and AHV in the coming weeks about how you can help us deliver affordable housing.

Special thanks to @markbusse, @johnathonv, and @brettmacfarlane, the organizers of IV and many other stellar events in our community.

[Link in Bio] Our group, @abundanthousingvancouver, has made it easy for you to voice your support for Temporary Modular Housing for the homeless. Some Marpole residents have organized to resist this desperately needed housing coming to their area, so it's more important than ever to tell the City that we support housing in this location - especially with Winter nearly upon us.

Use our letter generator (and if you have time, add a few lines of your own) to express why housing the homeless throughout our city is a vital part of our social contract, not something distasteful that homeowners can drive out of their neighbourhood.

Attending TEDxSFU as a Modo Ambassador this weekend. There are some great speakers I'm looking forward to meeting, including a VR researcher, non-profit strategist, emotional intelligence expert and other accomplished personalities. Follow @tedxsfu for tickets and more.

Sunday evening homework.

Torrential rain in morning, sun in afternoon.

Recently, I was on a @udibc panel about stakeholder engagement in the city planning process. Always a privilege to share the stage with such accomplished civic leaders. Photo credit to my oldest daughter.

Sunrise in Yaletown, #nofilter.

From last night's #bikethenight pre-party. This land has been a parking lot for decades, but is slated to become a large park and mixed use residential in the coming years. Can't happen fast enough, as it's a stunning downtown gathering place - even when it's nothing but asphalt. Hopefully the bulk of the residential units can be purpose built rental, but I'm guessing they're currently slated to be market condo.

Sunset isn't half bad.

Sunrise was ok today.

What freedoms did you have as a kid? Would you still have them today?

Idyllic little spot in the city, for rugrats and oversized rodents alike. Still haven't seen the beaver, though I follow him on IG.

Sunset at Kits Beach.

Saw Beck tonight.
