A lot of store bought nut milks are packed with preservatives. Making your own cashew milk is insanely easy with the help of a high powered blender. I made my superfood cashew milk with 3/4 cup RAW cashews, 1 1/2 cups water, & 1tbsp Maca powder, separate water for soaking the almonds. To adjust the quantities use 2 parts water to every 1 part cashews. Soak the cashews overnight (preferably) in the fridge by covering them in a bowl with water. If you’re like me and always forget, you can “flash soak” them by adding hot water to them and soaking for 10 minutes before using them in the recipe. Drain the cashews and add to a blender with the fresh (filtered) water and maca (or any flavorings -or not- of your choice. Can be vanilla, maple syrup, raw cacao powder, etc). Blend on high for 1-1.5 minutes. I didn’t choose to to strain with a cheesecloth as the small particles add so much flavor (and saves time). This will keep in the fridge for 2-3 days. Enjoy!
