You guys. When I started @abacusthreads I had this “grand” vision that I wanted to help others. To help fellow single mothers. That I wanted to invest in well made and long lasting items to promote less waste. To love people more than things. I knew I wanted to show my little ones that even though we don’t have a lot, we still have more than many and we could help in some way. More than anything we have each other. They have seen me sew away. They have sewn their own little projects along side, finding joy and satisfaction in creating. While we went in to get my serger fixed, they kept telling people how much they love to sew and make things 😃. When I got back this week from my trip to Guatemala, I shared pictures of the seamstress I had met. The wonderful cobblers behind out leather goods. Telling them their names, a little bit about their families, etc... Even though current circumstances make it that I’m not able to bring them with me on my trips, I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to me to be sharing this journey with them. A journey that started for them. Thank you so much for following along. xo
