So if you haven't already noticed, this week I'm away on holiday yet again loving life 😏. I had a DM this morning asking me what I do when im away for workouts and do I worry that I will lose my hard work during my week away? Absolutely not. I have not trained once since being out here. Not at all. My body is definitely thanking me! Rest and recovery is so often neglected when aiming for a certain goal because People believe they are undoing their hard work by having days off. I know I used to feel so guilty if I didn't train in a day, crazy eh?! Your rest periods are when your muscles are refuelling and repairing, putting your graft to show- trust the process &a look after your body. Overtraining will do nothing but reverse your work. Ngl, very happy to still be able to see the lil buba abs this morning too!

Trained #GVT this morning, 10 sets of 10 for front squats @ 60kg & cleans @ 40kg. I thought I was going to die πŸ˜°πŸ˜‚ -
GVT can be very long, tedious and boring but I find it fantastic for building strength and personally great for mental strength. Half way through these sessions I almost always get bored and think about giving up & by pushing though i definitely gain mental strength and determination!πŸ˜…πŸ’ͺ🏼 After a few shitty days mentally, a tough session was what I needed.

So the picture isn't relevant to my rant but it needs to be said.
Firstly, so sorry guys, I've been very quiet on social media recently! why? I've gone through quite a bad few weeks of self hate and doubt in myself. Not liking what I see in pictures or the mirror after being a little slack with my diet and training. I would take a photo of my self and spend hours criticising every inch.
I've decided to be open about this now because I want you to know that everyone has these days and I want to try my very best to learn to love myself and not compare myself to anyone else in magazines or social media.
99% of the images I find comparing myself next too are touched up and the original model doesn't even look like that. Reality these days has both male & females striving to achieve an unachievable result with inaccurate images. I am fed up of seeing photoshopped celebrities and instagram/bloggers and thinking to myself 'why don't I look like that?'πŸ’­ -
I'm the first to admit that I have been tempted to download apps such as Facetune/photoshop in order to make myself look 'better' to compete with societies standards but why the f*** should I. It makes my blood boil that we have created an environment where it is normal and acceptable to edit and alter your image to false advertise who you are.
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH AND SO SHOULD YOU.

Big shout out to @asos who has been praised this week for no photoshopping a models stretch marks. This is what we need more of. No more #editing, no more #photoshop and no more ducking unreal expectations.

In short, I've chopped everything imaginable into small bits and thrown them into a big bowl and voila, dinner for the next few days is sorted. I get very bored with plain salads but I've found mixing up the colours and flavours is my new go too! πŸ’ͺ🏼😍 What keeps you on track?

This is literally would be a quote from my autobiography. Over the last few years, my normal bra: sports bra ratio has become increasingly comical. My mums always one to moan at me for putting a sports bra on and not being 'ladylike' (h8 that word) but girrllll, they so much comfier & means I'm ready to tackle any challenge thrown at me in the day. Run to the shops? Sure. Teach a gym class? Sure. Fight off a pack of wolves in the countryside? I'm ready πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ ok that was extreme but ya know my point.
I actually wore a normal wired bra the other day, NEVER AGAIN πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… I only bounced up the stairs in work, it resulted in back ache, breasticles felt like they were gonna fall off & I'm pretty sure a lung was punctured in the process by the god damn wire πŸ˜­πŸ˜‚

TIME TO CUT βœ‚οΈ Since coming back from America, I've struggled to find any kind of self discipline. I've found myself skipping the gym and eating endless amounts of ice cream to make up for the fact the sun is out. Enough is enough πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

Following a new 4 week programme I've set myself small stepping stone goals throughout to keep myself interested and motivated πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ🏼
Goal #1 - feeel fire in a bikini next month. I actually go away with my parents which im super excited for. Haven't had a holiday with them in a good few years so will be nice to just relax and enjoy their company. (Ask me on day 3 and I'll probably be ready run away as my mum will drive me cray cray but that's what families are for ay!)
Goal #2- Netball pre season starts in approx 5 weeks. At this time I want to improve all of testing scores significantly & be fighting fit for the first session.

Setting yourself targets is such a good way to remind yourself on the bad days, why you started this journey. Take progress photos if it's aesthetics you're searching and record stats if it's performance. 'Only look back if it's to see how far you've come' πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ🏼

It's leg day for me today, which I feel is going to be a serious burner but I am ready for what it throws at me.
