Tatiana Hill  Living Fearlessly Checking Things Off My Bucket List Mom to Ruby & Levi Boutique Owner & Stylist @tealeagleboutique Obstacle Course Racing Newbie

Went back to high school this morning to guest speak to students on turning your passion into a profession. It was an incredible few hours getting to share a part of my journey and the tips and tricks I’ve learned. It was even better tag teaming the talk with one of my favorite female business power houses @elizabeth.henson then we kept the ball rolling and I recorded an episode on her amazing podcast. It was my first ever podcast interview and I gotta say, I LOVED it. Then I picked up my son from school, we ate snacks, sent some emails and shipped some packages.... all in a days work. Sometimes you have to take a moment in the busy to stop and look around... soak it all in. Today I felt inspired and grateful. So grateful. #workflow #thursdayvibes

Friendly reminder.... don’t let the fear of “what if” keep you on the side lines. I almost didn’t run this race because I had anxiety about running alone. Turns out, I LOVED running alone. We’re nearing the end of 2018... what is one thing you’ve been wanting to do but fear has prevented you from doing it?! End the year with a leap of faith, I promise you will feel so happy. #livefearlessly #spartanwomen .

Never under estimate the power of kindness. It goes a LONG way. I try to be the giver of kindness where ever I go. Some days I succeed more than others, hey I’m human. But the past few days I have been the recipient of several acts of kindness. It started with someone buying my lunch on Sunday, to another person bringing my grocery cart back to the proper spot after I loaded groceries and kids into the car, to a gentleman at the city’s office who went out of his way for me not once but TWICE today. (I will be finding a way to express my gratitude) then a store clerk gave my son a starburst while he excitedly gushed to him how much he loves Halloween and then I received a really sweet “just because” message from a friend in a moment when I really needed to hear those kind words.

Kindness is so powerful. It spreads like wild fire. And the simplest gesture can make a big difference. I will pay it forward for each of these kind acts and then some. I hope you too will find a way to spread more kindness and make the world a little sweeter. .

I wasn’t going to race today. I haven’t been feeling well lately and to be honest I haven’t been training much either. My wrist cysts have been bothering me and my ankle isn’t 100% healed. Life has been busy and I have been tired. At least this is what I kept telling myself the past few days. I made the decision to sit this Super out and cheer for Kev on the sidelines as he ran his first male elite division. As we reviewed the course map last night and talked about this year’s previous races, I realized the real reason I was apprehensive about running. This was the first time I would be running alone. I don’t know why but running alone terrified me. No one helped me run the other races this season, but there was a sense of safety in having companionship. If I ran this weekend, I was all alone. It would be up to me to carry myself physically and mentally no matter what. I replayed countless conversations I’ve had with my daughter when she is overcome with anxiety. I am always so proud of her courage to run out on the gym floor alone while trying to control her panic attacks. Anxiety is a bitch sometimes. I work hard to help her overcome it and this morning I realized that I needed to take my own advice and lead by example. Living Fearlessly doesn’t mean you don’t experience fear, it means you over come it. So today I kicked fear in the face, silenced the anxiety, and ran in honor of my daughter! Her sweet face kept me going and I ran my fastest pace of the year. Fear is a liar friends and anxiety will keep you on the sidelines if you let it. Here’s to finishing my first race alone! 8.2 miles. 29 Obstacles. No walking. And a whole lotta mud! 2018 has been the year of proving to myself what I am capable of! #spartanvirginia #spartanwomen

I’m normally not hesitant to put things out into social media land, but for some reason I keep stopping myself with this. Perhaps it’s because once I officially put it out into the world it becomes real. There’s no going back. And maybe a little fear sets in. I’ve bumped the date back a few times, changed my course a few tomes, and have put way too much emphasis on HOW it should be done. So much emphasis on the how, that at times I’ve lost sight of the WHY. By announcing the grand opening of @tealeagleboutique STORE it becomes real. A big dream, a big jump out into the unknown becomes a real thing, and that feeling is so scary. Exciting, but damnit scary! By announcing the store, there’s no changing plans, or over analyzing the how.... we just do. So Happy Friday Friends... today seemed like as good of a day as any to let you know we’re officially opening a store front just in time for the holidays! You’re all invited to our grand opening weekend, November 1-3 So Mark your calendars cause we’re going to celebrate big ❤️

Today is World Mental Health Day. I didn’t even know that was a thing, but man am I glad it is. I read somewhere recently that suicide now kills more people than car accidents, making it the leading cause of injury death.
I’m a big advocate for mental health awareness. I went to school to be a counselor. I know the power of behavioral therapy and using counseling as a way to learn skills to better yourself as a human. While there’s so much more to mental health than just counseling, I do believe it is a key player in improving mental health issues for so many reasons. There’s a stigma around counseling, but rest assure I’m a BIG cheerleader for anyone who thinks it might be the best route for them.
We don’t often talk about our mental struggles, our personal issues, or weaknesses on social media or in real life for that matter. Certainly not the way we should. And yet for some reason I always feel called to share that side of my reality. Throughout my instagram you will see this “bleh” beige wall.... what is this wall you ask? It’s outside my counselors office. Once a week I stroll into his office and “hash it out”, for lack of a better way to describe it. Most of the time it’s me and Kevin together. (Y’all marriage is hard, especially 9+ years in, don’t let anyone tell you differently). But yah, most of the time with Kevin and sometimes alone. It’s a safe place to be heard, to be validated, and to grow as a person (and as a couple). There’s no shame in outsourcing help for whatever you’re dealing with. In fact, you’ll probably start looking forward to going. Stress, anxiety, trauma, self esteem, depression, marital issues, whatever it be, let me repeat myself.... there is no shame. Your priority should be focusing on becoming the healthiest version of yourself. It can be scary to take that step, but I promise you it’s worth it. Here’s to more mental health programs! To more awareness and to breaking the stigma! 👊🏻

I shared this repost on Facebook and it’s too good not to share here too.... “I once asked a very successful woman to share her secret with me. She smiled and said to me..
"I started succeeding when I started leaving small fights for small fighters.
I stopped fighting those who gossiped about me... I stopped fighting with my in laws... I stopped fighting for attention... I stopped fighting to meet peoples expectation of me...
I stopped fighting for my rights with inconsiderate people.. I stopped fighting to please everyone... I stopped fighting to prove they were wrong about me.... I left such fights for those who have nothing else to fight...
And I started fighting for my vision, my dreams, my ideas and my destiny.
The day I gave up on small fights is the day I started becoming successful & so much more content."
Some fights are not worth your time..... Choose what you fight for wisely.

I get asked all the time for advice on how to start a boutique. What do I know now that I wish I had known a year ago? How do I make the right choices and what has worked out well? And sure I have answers to those questions but the truth is, there is no big secret here! It’s called hard work. There is no shortcut to success. You have to put in the hours. You will make mistakes that’s a guarantee, and you have to keep moving forward. Learn from them, and adapt to make your business better. The only thing I’ve ever known for certain is the importance of showing up and working hard. When you get knocked down, stand back up and continue giving it all you’ve got. A stubborn heart pays off! ❤️ 📷: @jo_jonesss .
