Fate of the Furious’ writer says a digital Paul Walker could return to ‘Fast’ franchise:
With the latest entry, The Fate of the Furious, hitting Blu-ray this week, Morgan spoke with the Toronto Sun about how Paul Walker’s death affected the series and whether or not he has the ending to the franchise all figured out.
Is there a possibility of using a CGI Paul Walker in one of the two upcoming Fast and Furious sequels in 2019 or 2021? 'There are no rules. Brian exists in our world and he’ll always live in our world. There was a moment when we were doing Furious 7 after Paul had died and a lot of people were theorizing that maybe we should kill off that character. I took a really hard line with that. For me, there was no way I would ever write Brian O’Connor out of our universe. Our franchise is a very hopeful one. It’s a very loving one. It’s very a family one. I love, as a fan, knowing that Brian and Mia and their kids are out there and they are happy. I would never want to mess with that. As for what happens with that down the road, we’ve been thinking a lot about where the stories go and how we deal with them. We’ve had some conversations about it, but there’s nothing I can tell you on that front.'
