‘Despacito’ singer Luis Fonsi just bought a $5 million house in Coral Gables! 🏡 The Cocoplum residence has seven rooms and six bathrooms, cathedral ceiling, marble floors and a boat dock with access to the canal to exit Biscayne Bay. He has great taste! #coralgables #miamirealestate #luisfonsi #despacito #miamimansions

Volunteering at the Lincoln Memorial Park, cleaning up the graves and pulling some weeds 🌱. It was great learning about the history behind this cemetery. Lincoln Memorial Park is a historic African-American cemetery. It is about 20 acres and sadly not very well kept up with, but they are working on keeping it up again! Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery was first used as a graveyard in 1924. I actually saw a grave from a man who served in the Vietnam war and sadly died in 1968 at the age of 28. The graves are raised because before they drained the Everglades there would be water if you dug down, so the only way was to build up! If you are curious on the history of this cemetery, I highly suggest visiting the Coral Gables Museum ( @coralgablesmuseum ) where they are still adding more history of this cemetery. If Interested, there will also be a panel discussion on Wednesday, August 15th 2018 from 6 - 7:30 PM on the rise, fall, and revival of Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. #HandsOnMiami #VolunteeringMadeEasy #LincolnMemorialPark

Without these incredible individuals and organizations in our community, our "Sacred Ground" exhibition would not have been possible. 🙏🏼 All of us at Coral Gables Museum would like to offer our sincerest gratitude, especially to:

The Miami Herald; Renowned Miami Herald Photographers Carl Juste & C.W. Griffin; Pulitzer Prize-Winning Miami Herald Reporter Leonard Pitts, Jr.; NBC 6 South Florida Co-Anchor Jawan Strader & PBS-WLRN Reporter Daniel Rivero; Miami's Community Newspapers & Coral Gables Magazine.

Along with our season partners: City of Coral Gables - Government, Miami-Dade County Government; The State of Florida; Withers Worldwide; Anthony R. Abraham Foundation and The Batchelor Foundation. "Sacred Ground: This Rise Fall & Revival of Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery," open through Nov. 6, 2018.
