Last day! Don’t let this happen again in our Southern Seas or anywhere for that matter. Link in Bio to have your say.
Watch my stories to see how easy it is. Today is the last day to submit so stop scrolling! #fightforthebight #bigoildontsurf #notgoodforseascapes #ruiningmybackgrounds

A few months ago we had the pleasure of meeting 📷@sundaypeach for @frankiemagazine Spaces. The shots that didn’t make the cut are very special to us so I thought I’d share a few. Thank you Peaches🙏

Since reopening in time to enjoy the summer The Espy has entertained visitors from far and wide and I’m lucky to receive photos like this from friends, family and design peers alike. Thank you this time to 📷@islandcollective . I really love the way the mural dips behind the coloured glass panels, framing and tinting each piece in a different way. The Mural and border is acrylic paint on distressed plaster. 8m x 2.5m (26ft x 8ft walls) #8footwalls

Today sees the release of the latest @bellemagazineau with a feature on @hotelesplanadestkilda and I’m so grateful to have two of my murals and decorative borders included, beautifully captured by 📷@jamesgeer for @bellemagazineau . The composition, light treatment, vanishing points, colour harmonies and subtle control of chroma (often overlooked) in the room can be attributed to the design skills of @technearchitects and @eleishagray however many photos fail to capture this well considered balance of elements to such a degree. Well done James.

Edited version of one of my recent oil paintings. When I paint interior murals I often desaturate the colours. I believe I first heard this concept from @jamesgurneyart that it was a method to create a calm vibe in a room (not his words). James Gurney, if you didn’t know, is the creator of Dinotopia and I’m a huge fan of his work and the way he freely shares art knowledge.

Miniature #3 Driven to the Light. Thank you for all the responses yesterday, it’s great to hear from you all. Oil on canvas 4” x 6”. link in Bio. Update:SOLD

I would really like to know your favourite from this weeks miniature series. This week I’ve realised two things. 1:I love painting miniatures almost as much as murals and 2:I need new glasses. Oil on canvas 4x6” (10x15cm) #surfart #surfartist

Summertime studio hangs w’ Rafa on our baby bear and papa bear stools.

Miniatures at the easel. Im working my way back up to larger scale oil paintings. These intricate works are available from the website with more on the way.

The glass before the storm. You can feel the low pressure within your very being on those moments before the storm. The elements align and the wind disappears like a long held breath. Oil on canvas. 4x6”

This always feels like sculpting to me. Work in progress. Oil on canvas 4x6”

Into the Moody Blue. 2019. This is my first painting of the year. It’s a journey back into a a recurring dream. I’d love to hear from anyone who knows a spot like this so as to find out if it’s my imagination or a memory. This piece is available from my website. 4x6” oil on canvas.
