Chloe Brookman @olliella  Our home in the hills of Byron Bay, overlooking the sea. Lovingly being renovated since May 2017

Any clues where we got the colour palette for @70shousereno ?

A place for the trinkets, and plants and cookbooks, and paintbrushes - and baskets!

Weee! We’ve put @70shousereno up on @airbnb ! We have availability in March and for 2 weeks in April — we’d love to host you ☀️☀️☀️🌈#byronbayaccommodation

Good morning 🌿

House is tidy finally after caravanning for 2 weeks and so we are rewarding ourselves with an ocean swim! Have a beautiful weekend friends x

When it’s too hot to play ☝🏼🤣📷 @bridgetwoodphotography

Small people in small spaces 👆🏼

We found these barstools at Kmart and made new seats for them in plywood to match the cabinetry - fun hack!

Sleeping dogs are really funny. Also for the record, vintage slate tiles are amazing for hiding debris 👌🏼

And while I had to sneak back to Sydney for a night, Charlie surprised me with polishing the tiles! 10 years of marriage and romance game is 💪🏽💪🏽💗😆

Rumpus room so nearly done! Charlie just finished building all the shelves/ entertainment unit - we used a roll of cane and attached it to the doors to give a wink to the 70s and also to create a space that wouldn’t overheat.

Cactus pots making this area look a little less Grecian 😝

We removed the old pergola, built a 1.2 metre wall using salvaged beeeze blocks (thank you gumtree!) and and tiled half, and laid aggregate (2 days ago) on the rest. Next up is landscaping and filling this area with plants and an outdoor kitchen

The boys room, still our favourite room in the house (because it’s so very them!). The walls were so destroyed from the previous wallpaper so we used wood panelling from Bunnings. Their bedroom opens out onto a courtyard which I’ll post next but

The original door off of the kitchen, one of the gems we saved and so glad we did - it’s the little quirky things that really make this home so special to us 👆🏼

The former office / laundry room (now guest room). We repurposed the wood panelling from the original dining room, added fixed and louvred windows, and covered the original cork flooring on some chunky rugs! Paint colour is white beach by @duluxaus

The little powder room! We kept the original tiles and used Oyster linen (@duluxaus) to pick up the Grey and olive tones - so glad we kept these mosaics!

If I could wear these tiles I would 👆🏼

Bringing a bit of the desert to @70shousereno // we raked up the bindis and the patchy areas of grass and then had some crushed white aggregate poured, giving her a little wink to Charlie’s desert beginnings 🌵

Can barely move and there is white aggregate dust EVERYWHERE but —- here’s a sneak peek!

A bit of “before” action 👆🏼

5 truckloads of crushed aggregate ready to cover the countless square meters of mud that surround the house!

Charlie managed to score some of this rattan on a roll. Anyone want to take a guess at what we are doing with it? 😁

Ricky, the newest member of our family and our next project 😜
