  •   surfingblondie Congratulations! And you're not alone in that, my friend is preparing for DBS. Only in our spoonie world is anyone ever excited for brain surgeries! 1w
  •   rsdwarrior610 @surfingblondie I felt like such a nerd the other day because I got so excited when I got new wires for my TENS unit. Way more than I should have. That's when it hit me...I am truly a spoonie 1w
  •   surfingblondie When you salivate over the thought of getting new tie dyed compression socks... That's when it hits. And walker accessories! 1w
  •   rsdwarrior610 Yes!!!! 1w
  •   hopesmybaby @rsdwarrior610 good luck!! I hope it goes well! I've definitely thought about a spinal cord stimulator, but my doctor said it's risky because they have to put it in a small area of my neck. I know several people with crps in their feet with scs though and they say they work wonders! I really hope it helps you! How does your tens unit work? Does it help? Do the electrodes connect right on the crps limb or in another spot? I've never actually seen one. My doctor didn't mention it... Id be willing to try it for sure if it helped! 1w
  •   rsdwarrior610 @hopesmybaby I love my TENS, but I had HUGE success with the trial SCS. The electrodes for me get placed on the back of my hand and under my wrist. The SCS is like a deeper TENS unit feeling. Try the TENS first. If you find that you have a bit of relief with that, you may want to consider the SCS route. I have never been so excited for surgery in my life. I can't wait to get my life back. ...or at least part of ot. My pain level went from over a ten to maybe a four or five. Definitely livable! 1w
  •   hopesmybaby @rsdwarrior610 I should definitely look into the tens unit. I just definitely couldn't tolerate it anywhere near my wrist. I'm sure that could be changed. Did the tens or the scs trial help with the hypersensitivity at all? Nerve blocks for me greatly reduced hypersensitivity which was great! They just don't last... Ketamine (at least the inpatient. Outpatient was horrible and made me way worse) helped my pain and lasted a lot longer than nerve blocks but didn't do anything for the hypersensitivity. Ya I'm much happier in less pain and can do a little more exercise type stuff because of it, but I still felt like I had a completely unusable hand. I hope your scs is feeling good. I know that you have to recover after surgery but maybe you can at least get some crps relief soon! Just take it easy!! 2d
  •   rsdwarrior610 @hopesmybaby have you considered lidocaine patches for the hypersensitivity? If you have the hypersensitivity, the lidocaine patches should work for you. They go on you for 12 hours, and off for 12 hours. They are great for numbing skin. My problem is that my CRPS is based in my hand, and cutting them to fit was more of a hassle than it was worth. I also didn't have severe hypersensitivity. But, It's something for you to try if you want to suggest it to your doctor. 2d

  •   delilah_psdit Delilah went with me to see divergent a couple of days ago. She was so good. At the becoming there is this German Shepard barking extremely aggressively. And she didn't even act like it was there. :) the same night I talked with this girl that had epilepsy. She was interested in service dogs and how her dog could assist her. It feels good to educate people on what a sd is and what is expected of them. Delilah was a great example. ^_^ thank you for all of your advice and guidance! We love you! 1w

  •   tturner236 @rsdwarrior610 my name is Tiffany and I have type II CRPS and now have a SD (doberman) in training. I have severe degenerative disc disease and have had spinal fusions and also neuropathy and radiculopathy in both legs. I am doing the training myself, and he will assist with mobility and stabilization, picking up and retrieving, and also with anxiety related issues. 3w
  •   tturner236 I was so happy to stumble across your account ♡♡ I added you to my follow list :) Hope you are feeling well! 3w
  •   rsdwarrior610 @tturner236 I'm happy you found me! Im working on mobility, with picking up, retrieval, and wheelchair ambulation. If it's not too bold, may I ask what kind of treatments you've had/are having? It's such a monster of a disease, and I wonder what works for other people. Right now, im waiting on workers comp to approve my permanent spinal cord stim. 3w
  •   tturner236 I have ketamine. It's been amazing...I went from a wheelchair part time to almost remission. I did a 5 day inpatient low dose treatment at Freedom Pain Hospital in Scottsdale AZ last September and now I just have boosters as needed. I have some other serious issues with my spine, and deal with those as they come up, but my RSD has been much better. I still have some bad days, but I haven't had a booster since January :) 3w

  •   hopesmybaby @rsdwarrior610 I'm sorry you're in the ER! Feel better soon! This is completely personal, so feel free to not answer or pm me, but do you mind me asking if your ER visit is crps pain related? I have gotten to the point where I'm shaking, throwing up, about to faint, heart racing, generally feeling like I'm going to die :P, etc from stupid crps and I haven't gone to the er because I wasn't sure what they could do for me. I know there are several times I should have just gone anyway. I also worry about what they could do for me if I've already taken pain meds. I'm just curious if the ER has been able to help you. I wish they could do nerve blocks in the ER... It's been two years and I still don't know how to deal with this horrible disease. I'm trying! But unfortunately, crps wins a lot. Thank goodness for service dogs! When they aren't helping physically, they sure are good emotional support and motivation to get up and keep fighting. 2mon
  •   rsdwarrior610 @hopesmybaby It's believed that I have an auto immune disease as well as CRPS. Last night the pain was unbearable. They gave me a shout of an anti inflammatory and a strong painkiller which helped, but I can fell my joints becoming inflamed again. I just pay that it doesn't get to that point again. I'm at two years into this disease myself♡ Are you on Facebook? Maybe we could keep each other going from time to time :-) 2mon
  •   rsdwarrior610 *shot, not shout..... 2mon
