  • raw_materials #Pickoftheday • RAW MATERIALS | This pic,tagged with #Raw_Materials, was shot by @rizalrenaldi . This pic is great. First as what it gives you to see. A woman standing in a middle of a road. According to the public light on behind her, it seems to be the end of the day. However the natural light outdoor has no effect on the quality of the pic. The perspective of the road is strong behind the woman. But the woman, head covered by a scarf, is not looking in that direction. She's looking in front of her. Like she's looking for someone of something. Maybe that's why she stopped in that road: she's excepting someone or something. Oh, yes, as you see, she's carrying a kid with her. Tied to her with a loincloth, the kid (who must be around 3), has each of his legs pending on his mother's flanks, has one of his arm on her throat and the other one is one his mouth, escorting his look that seems far away. So we have a mother and her child. This is universal. Everywhere that relation is the base of any society. The love of a mother is also universal. There is nothing more moving than this. Here, we have this mother of Indonesia who doesn't live the Life of Brazilian, French, Congolese or US citizens. She doesn't dress the same way than them, she doesn't face the same issues, she doesn't even carry her child like those mother other there (except in Latin America and Africa). Yet, her love for her child is recognizable by every mothers and every children. The french writer Victor Hugo once wrote "A mother's arms are made of tenderness and children sleep soundly in them." So surely did and will surely do this kid. Rizal named this pic "Joki". For what I know it can have two meanings. Joki in Indonesia goes for "Jockey". So we can think that little boy with his camouflage har is a little Jockey. But, that boy could also be a joki, a person living in Jakarta offers to sit in your car when you just have one passenger and want to take a special lane that requires cars with at least three people in it. #Raw_Materials_PickOfTheDay #Raw_Materials   1y
