zeusfanouz #Lophophora 2 fruits and a flower bud 20h
  •   pope_banexxiii So beautiful. I'm so eager for spring to come, only 6 more weeks. 19h
  •   zeusfanouz @pope_banexxiii start germinating your seeds. You'll be ready by spring 19h
  •   pope_banexxiii I usually start germinating in the last month of winter. That's only 2 weeks away so why the hell not start now. 19h
  •   maxcacti @pope_banexxiii I get flowers all the time and no fruit... What am I doing wrong? 11h
  •   zeusfanouz @maxcacti my only guess would be they'd be not williamsii. L. williamsii is the only self-fertile species. What color are your flowers? 11h
  •   maxcacti Dark purple or pink.. And some are over 60 years old and from Texas. I think some are texacana and others caspeacosa 11h
  •   zeusfanouz Purple flowers with reddish-purple stamens would be jourdania, I'm not sure if they're self-fertile or not. I have 2 but they rarely make seeds. I'm not sure if they're fertilized by their own pollen or by the pollen of neighboring williamsii. Texacana is a williamsii subspecies, or so I read.......should be self-fertile. @maxcacti 11h

  •   zeusfanouz @jonasott the flower buds aborted 2d
  •   pope_banexxiii Beautiful specimen mate. Seeing your grafted specimens has really inspired me to get into grafting my own when the weather warms up. 2d
  •   jonasott What a bummer man! Well it's still a beutiful specimen... 2d
  •   zeusfanouz @pope_banexxiii thanks a lot my friend. Means a lot to me . Keep me updated when you do . 1d
  •   zeusfanouz @jonasott not really. What I noticed is most Lophophora grafts abort their first sets of flowers, which isn't a big deal cuz they flower all season. I had this happen to an ariocarpus graft which was a bummer cuz they produce one set of flowers a season, during winter. Hopefully it'll flower this year. 1d
