reptileryan So around a year ago I bought this king cobra which was the bottom of the barrel pick from a shipment. He was 7 feet, skinny and dehydrated and for 6 months he did not eat a single meal on his own. I treated him for parasites and force fed him and put a lot of effort into him. A few months ago he finally began eating on his own (first meal was a green mamba and then corns and balls) and now he's 9 feet and filling out. I'm proud of this guy for pulling through! 8h

  •   caheenpepper Gorgeous!!!! I remember that mamba meal. Made for an awesome picture lol 7h
  •   netti_the_barber79 @reptileryan is he a venomoid? does he try to strike..I had a monacle once and she was super nasty...wondering if kings are a little more mellow due to size? 7h
  •   reptileryan @netti_the_barber79 I don't keep any venomoids- that procedure is mutilative. And he is just as defensive as any other cobra. Just faster and with a longer range. 6h
  •   mustymerk Ok that makes more sense! @reptileryan 6h
  •   dablyfe710 Stupid question I own all large constrictors putting in my hours for my venomous license how do you approach force feeding a venomous snake 6h
  •   crofabulous @dablyfe710 very carefully 6h
  •   reptileryan @dablyfe710 it's difficult to explain in text. There are a few methods I use depending on the species of snake and size. Maybe I'll post a video of a force feeding. 5h
