  • atheismscience Jesus is a myth, just like all the others. Matter of fact, much of Christianity was borrowed from these earlier pagan religions. #Atheist #Atheism #jesus #myth #god #christian #muslim #allah #bible #religion #church #prayer   1y
  • occamstazer Yes, @matt_the_seal58 , that's right, no one thought of stringing anyone up in a tree until someone in Iraq came up with it.   12mon
  • matthew_clayton @fudomyo0 the story of Horus had to be corrupted and influenced by Christianity. Crucifixion and Baptism was invented a lot of time after 3000 BC. I've just recently written a blog post about this, so I strongly advise reading it. It might clear up some things. Here's the link- http://www.lcwym.blogspot.com/2012/05/god-who-was-there.html I also recommend it to @jacodyy @old_yellow_bricks @alfey89 and @atheismscience :)   12mon
  • occamstazer Yeah, right. Except it wasn't. You might actually try reading real scholarly reasearch, instead of some idealogical middle-school punk's blog. But I could be wrong - perhaps you were there. Not actually, of course, but were perhaps on a dig, some archealogical expedition in the region. Maybe you were involved in translating some anchient, forgotten parchment that laid the whole thing out. No? Examined pottery shards, perhaps? Please don't tell me your sole source is a single bronze-age collection of heavily edited anecdotes, or some "scholar" whose sole works have apology and post hoc question begging rationalizations. Pinhead.   12mon
  • old_yellow_bricks @matt_the_seal58 actually the story of horus was writen and told before jesus and christianity ao shut up ok? deal with it and stop trying   12mon
  • matthew_clayton @old_yellow_bricks part of it, yes. But the Crucifixion part couldn't have been added until 400-200 BC because that's when crucifixion was invented. The Baptism part couldn't have been added until the first century because that's when baptism was invented. Likewise, it would be logical to say that since this was passed down by oral tradition and there are no solid documents of this story, it was obviously corrupted and influenced by Christianity. If you want the other parts of this picture refuted, I suggest reading the article.   12mon
  • old_yellow_bricks @matt_the_seal58 u're thinking about christian baptism, not other religions baptism also who gives a shit? jesus story is bullshit and horus is too   12mon
  • matthew_clayton @old_yellow_bricks well if they're different kinds of baptism, Christianity probably wasn't influenced by the Egyptian kind. My point here is that Christian doctrine didn't need to steal any ideas; we had them in our Old Testament. Virgin birth-Isaiah 7:14. Star in the East-Numbers 24:17. Performed miracles-Isaiah 35:5. Crucifixion-Psalm 22. These mythological figures are not a threat to Christianity. The blog post will explain why :)   12mon
  • old_yellow_bricks @matt_the_seal58 still a lie, sorry that u need to believe in that story but all religions' stories are obvious lies now move on   12mon
