zaziana second night I went to the Village Vanguard to see Barry Harris Trio. Kept thinking how it must have been to see Coltrane do his live at the v. vanguard historical sessions in such a tiny dark basement. Some guys on my side were acting all Beat and going "yes, sir", "aham" after every solo or turn. Barry Harris is real good at telling stories. 4w

zaziana At Blue Note I met Pat. She's apparently been in love with Ron Carter since forever and showed me some pics she took of him in 1984, which she brought to the show. It broke my heart when she called out "Hey Ron!" and waved at him as they were going onstage. 4w

zaziana on my first night in NYC I checked the legendary Blue Note jazz club (Donald Harrison, Ron Carter & Billy Cobhan). They opened with Softly as in a Morning Sunrise, which aways kills me. 4w
