whatradioWhen this photo was taken back in April I had no idea it would be the last picture I ever took with my dad. He passed very unexpectedly last month at the age of 48. I haven't really talked about it much but there are a couple of things I wanted to say that didn't really fit into the obituary.
When it came to his happiness my dad was uncompromising to say the least. It was just going to be his way. Some people would probably see that as selfish. I disagree. The man worked his ass off his whole life and when the time was right he cashed in and did everything exactly the way he wanted with no real regard for anything or anyone else.
That isn't a bad thing. Life is, as I have discovered the hard way, far too short and if we aren't doing exactly what we want to do then what's the damn point.
My dad taught me everything and I couldn't be more proud to be his son. This fish and wildlife of Grant County can rest easy knowing my old man is no longer on the hunt. I love you dad.3d
