suzannegorman An ordinary doorway with a small sign, above a simple grocery store in one of Hydra's magical lanes, lead to an exhibition of divinely powerful and memory evoking oil paintings by Tom Powell. His sense of colour flawed me and left me not wanting to walk away.... 7h
  •   ginnyanita Haven't been to Hydra, but the light in that painting looks extraordinary....so hard to capture. Can you pop that in the bottom of your suitcase? @suzannegorman 3h

suzannegorman Party on the rocks everyday in Hydra - music, divine Greek food made from the freshest produce including seafood caught on location, bikinis, Gods in colourful boardies (who know exactly how hot they are and they're right!) and crystal clear seas to float and bob away the day. This was day 34. We just passed through the party and spent most of our time five minutes away in tranquil solitude....but we knew the party was there if the mood took us. 🌞 1d

suzannegorman I asked my husband out to dinner. I booked a restaurant by the sea and we ate slow roasted Greek lamb. It was a warm moonlit evening. Additionally, my husband has grown a beard while we've been travelling and I really love beards. That's all. 2d

suzannegorman A simple palette of crisp white and soft grey (with the tiniest hint of blue) is everywhere here in Hydra and it is really very lovely. 2d

suzannegorman Today I had a mini revelation. I am a world class floater. For the first time in my life I realised I can float indefinitely, yes basically until I call it and nothing can sink me. I can even add in a small amount of water ballet without submerging. What do you think of that people? #proudofmyself 2d

suzannegorman I can't say 'no' to lobster linguine with a smile like that. You only live once - day 33 in Hydra, Greece. 2d

suzannegorman Big blue skies and days of memorable nothingness. I am lucky to truly love my work and I work hard and long, like most everybody. This holiday will be a reminder to be still and breath, on a day basis, when I reenter the real world next week. #lesslistsmorelife #missingmyclientsnow 2d

suzannegorman "Life on the rocks." As we near the end of our holiday, I opened a conversation with my family about how they would reflect on our time together and hoping it would create fond memories. Joey #mybaby11, reflected poignantly, "Its like we were all a bit broken and now we've come together as one family instead of five separate people. We kinda needed this - it's been really great Mum." With no other responses forthcoming, in an effort to heighten the emotion and therefore draw more responses from the other three, I added that they should consider me going under a bus next week and this might help them to evoke more feelings. The replies were really not surprising. Sami #teenagegirl14 flicked her blunt but oddly sweet reply at me, "Well I don't have a very good memory, so I don't know, I could try and think of something nice about you, so yeah maybe. I like Paris. Don't die Mum." Harrison #solemnmanboy17 whispered, "Mum it's been lovely but you are depressing me. And I disagree with Joe - I don't think we were broken, our family structure remains the same but you seem to be more able to love Dad probably because he is saying less stupid things and you are more relaxed. Of course you being more relaxed might cause Dad to be less stupid - it is hard to say which comes first." Then the Rooster #oldman crowed in, "Suzie it will always be your bikinis I remember". I am pretty sure he doesn't not mean only mine! 2d

suzannegorman 30 days travelling together. Happy days with my tribe. Today nothing but eating, drinking & an afternoon of dancing on the rooftop pool terrace of our hotel "Fresh" .....then an evening stroll through the beautiful national gardens in Athens and dinner under the Parthenon. Feeling so grateful for this time together. #wishicouldfreezethembeforetheygrowup #biglove 5d

suzannegorman I am getting more attention up here on the Acropolis than I did at the top of the Eiffel Tower. I must have had my monuments wrong all along. Yasou! 5d

suzannegorman The Acropolis Museum was as incredible as it's reputation that precedes it. Then a tiny visitor made serendipitous sense of the scale before us. Beneath the grandeur of rescued and restored monolithic columns from the Parthenon, a tiny sunshine yellow finch landed at our feet and stayed a moment. 5d

suzannegorman I could be on the road forever. Each city is beautiful with its own energy. I really love Athens. Italy was romantic, Spain was friendly and relaxed. Athens is hot, grungy in all the good ways, lots of push and shove...... and well, kinda sexy. My husband seems happier in Athens - he likes the dry heat and the unpretentiousness of Athens. I do too. 5d

suzannegorman Day 29. Athens is full of gritty energy despite the heat which hangs heavy during daylight hours. Most people sit in restaurants under fans with fine mists of water attached and move much later in the evening. 5d
