sukipower @distinktif That's cool. I'm putting rosewater inside mine. I see you did chocolate? How'd they taste? I hear they can taste fine even if they don't turn out perfectly. And if you haven't already, check out Brave Tart's blog. She has a list of commandments and misconceptions. That's what finally gave me the guts to try them. distinktif @sukipower rose water! I bet that'll be awesome. I remember seeing powdered rose drink mix as rose essence at mid eastern grocery store and thought those would be excellent for macarons. Mine turned out really good. The macarons itself were super sweet so I'm happy the chocolate mousse buttercream I did was semi-sweet. It was a good balance. I found my error though. I didn't beat enough air out of the mix once I incorporated the almond flour. This last batch I'm putting in the even looks promising. 5d
sukipower @distinktif you were smart to make more than one batch. I made one. If it fails I have to totally start again. And I may fill mine with honey buttercream as well. Two different options. I've been wanting to make them for years, so I'll keep experimenting with them. Eventually I want to make my personal fav, rose, raspberry and lychee. And I may have over mixed mine slightly. Like one or two turns of the spatula. We'll see once I get them in the oven. they are still drying now. I look forward to seeing your second attempt! 5d
distinktif @sukipower thanks! Lychee! I had white chocolate lychee ones the other day at a bakery my friend recommended here in Chicago. They were excellent. The baker there also had me try strawberry lemongrass. Was good too. 5d
