simplegreensmoothies Green smoothie fails are the worst. But that doesn’t mean you have to dump them down the garbage!

Our favorite way to save a green smoothie fail is by adding a banana. Not a fan of bananas? Add fruits that you do like—pineapples, mangos, berries... Another cool trick is by adding your fail to a couple of ice cube trays and freezing to add to later smoothies.

ONE: Follow the 60/40 formula—in other words, 2 cups leafy greens and 3 cups fruit for a two serving green smoothie.

TWO: Blend liquid and leafy greens first to avoid leafy chunks.

THREE: Use frozen fruit instead of ice.

FOUR: Use whole fruit as sweetener—mango, banana, dates, grapes, peaches... FIVE: Prep your smoothies ahead of time (all ingredients except liquid), and freeze in containers.

Did you know green smoothies can last at least two days in your fridge if they are in sealed containers? Go ahead. Blend your green smoothie the night before so you can grab and go in the morning. Or make the full recipe in the morning, and have the second serving when you get home from work. Do what works best for you!
