repstenyhoyer Two years ago, in June 2012, I was proud to join President Obama when he signed into law a bipartisan bill to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank. “Like” or “Share” if you think House Republicans should work with House Democrats to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank again this year in order to support job creation and help American companies stay competitive. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT 2d

repstenyhoyer This afternoon I hosted a roundtable discussion with Rep. John Lewis to discuss voting rights and comprehensive immigration reform. We won’t give up until these critical issues are addressed. #TimeisNow #VotingRights 2w

repstenyhoyer Today we celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the section of the Defense of Marriage Act that prohibited federal recognition of same-sex marriages. All Americans ought to be proud of this march toward full equality for LGBT Americans, and I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to advance the cause of full equality for all Americans. 2w

repstenyhoyer One year after the Senate passed its immigration reform bill, when will Speaker Boehner let the House of Representatives work its will on comprehensive immigration reform? It’s time for House Republican leaders to put this important issue on the Floor for a vote. #TimeisNow #ThrowbackThursday #TBT 2w

repstenyhoyer I was proud to stand with Congressional leaders at today’s Congressional Gold Medal ceremony honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King and marking the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which was signed into law on July 2, 1964. 2w

repstenyhoyer On the 51st anniversary of the #EqualPay Act being signed into law, let us rededicate ourselves to realizing an American value of equal pay for equal work. 1mon

repstenyhoyer When the Equal Pay Act was signed into law 51 years ago, women earned only $0.60 to the dollar of a man’s salary. Yet today, the pay gap has only narrowed to $0.77 to the dollar. That’s why House Democrats have made equal pay a priority, passing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2009 and now pushing for Congress to enact the Paycheck Fairness Act, which I am proud to cosponsor. As we mark this anniversary, I urge House Republicans to partner with Democrats to do the right thing and take steps to close the pay gap once and for all. 1mon

repstenyhoyer Today I join in commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The troops who stormed the beachhead in Normandy set the stage for victory in Europe and for the preservation of democracy to this day. We continue to owe them our gratitude and to honor them for their services and sacrifices, which will never be forgotten. 1mon

repstenyhoyer Today we celebrate the life of Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated on this day in 1968. A man who always fought for justice, he once said, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” 1mon
