  •   lauriekeiko Ooh, did you guys hike down? It's so beautiful there, isn't it? 1y
  •   quiquesf @lauriekeiko we sure did. Quite a workout. Let me tell you. But beautiful, indeed. Worth the effort. :) 1y
  •   lauriekeiko I haven't hiked down there in years, but I thought down was actually harder than up! I wiped out a couple times. It is totally worth it, though. 1y
  •   quiquesf @lauriekeiko Yeah. Down kills your legs. Up is a problem mostly for your heart. What city are you from? 1y
  •   lauriekeiko I'm from Hilo. "City" is probably an overstatement. 1y
  •   quiquesf @lauriekeiko I wish I had stayed another day in Kona and visited the Hilo area. I really wanted to go to the botanical gardens nearby. Next trip. First on the list. :) 1y

  •   lauriekeiko Oh, cool! You're on my home island! 1y
  •   quiquesf Yes, @lauriekeiko! Come on over. 1y
  •   quiquesf @rjmercado sí, señorito. Ando por acá. Gracias. 1y
  •   quiquesf @lauriekeiko are there any food plantations in Kona? I want to go to a pineapple one at least. I'm also going to Maui in a couple days. Any must-dos on either island? 1y
  •   lauriekeiko There are coffee plantations in Kona. Not sure where/if they still grow pineapple in the islands commercially. Used to be on Lanai back in the day when Dole owned it. On the Big Island, you should definitely go see the volcano. On Maui, the sunrise at Haleakala is supposed to be amazing - but it requires getting up super-early and it's freezing up there! The road to Hana is another top attraction on Maui. I've never done either but I've only been to Maui twice. 1y
  •   quiquesf @lauriekeiko thanks, Laurie! I'll look into coffee plantations. That sounds fun. A friend if mine went to a pineapple one--but in Oahu--and I've been wanting to go to one ever since. We're going to the volcano tomorrow. Will try to check out Haleakala. :) 1y
  •   quiquesf So many mixed reviews on the plantations. Which would you say has the best coffee, @lauriekeiko? 1y
