nycrunningmama 18 miles (7:53 average) before 8am. Not the fastest or most enjoyable, but it's done. Last long run done. 81.5 miles for week - highest ever for me (and first time with an "8"!)! Time to recover and taper. NJ marathon in 13 days! #run #keepittight #findyourstrong #instarun #womensrunning 2d

  •   eblinn I just bought those shoes, and they're my favorite! 3d
  •   novarunner1 I have the same Asics gel nimbus 15, how do the Saucony Guide's compare to the gel nimbus as far cushioning goes? Do you wear the same size as your Asics? Thanks so much! 3d
  •   bobbyvee78 What model of saucony are these? 3d
  •   jensrunning THe are the guide's I believe... 3d
  •   nycrunningmama @bobbyvee78 @jensrunning Yup! The guide 6s! (7s are out but they don't seem to agree with my feet) =) 3d
  •   bobbyvee78 Cool thanks, I bought the guide 7 but to narrow for my foot...the color I want they don't come in wide, so bought the asics kayano 20 @nycrunningmama 3d

nycrunningmama 20.3 miles (7:39 pace) to start the week! Did first 7 (7:42 pace) on treadmill (b/c I'm not comfortable running alone in dark) followed by 13.3 outside (7:38 pace). No fuel or water during run - just one packet of Gen Ucan beforehand #run #instarun #longrun #peakweek #marathontraining #motherrunner 1w
  •   run_toshi_run That is impressive!!!!!! 1w
  •   jhughes787 You are so inspiring @nycrunningmama! 1w
  •   ktanoninstagram @nycrunningmama have you seen improvement in your race times using depleted glycogen stores training?? I haven't heard of this before and am curious about benefits. 1w
  •   nycrunningmama @ktanoninstagram Ehhh. I don't really know. I've tried to do a couple of these types of runs the last few training cycles. Haven't hit the times I wanted in the marathon yet but I think (for me) it was more of a mental issue then physical. I'm not sure if there is a way to prove if this really works. If nothing helps. it gives me more confidence - basically, that I can run this pace w/ no fuel so race day should feel easier with fuel. Does that make sense? LOL 1w
  •   eneal8 @nycrunningmama do you do personal training!? Totally inspired by you. I am a mommy of twins and training for my first half marathon! I have been running for three years on and off. I lost twins in dec of 12 and had twins in nov of 13. I'm training but don't know if I'm doing it correctly? I would also like to get to the point where I am sponsored as well. 1w
  •   runyourlife262 @nycrunningmama yes! See you in NJ 1w
  •   mrsemilybuck Thanks so much! I'm interested in trying it out next training! Maybe I might try it in training for my double century! :) 1w
  •   ktanoninstagram @nycrunningmama thanks for all the info!!! 1w

nycrunningmama 13.1 miles (7:19 pace) alternating incline from .5 to 1.5 every couple of minutes. Loved this fun ladder workout from @losingrace. I adapted a bit (longer warmup and 10 min to start/end ladder portion) + did last mile fast finish (6:35). Pushed myself a little harder than I normally would for a workout but taking next few days off b/c my sister is getting married!!!!!!! #run #instarun #motherrunner #findyourstrong 2w
  •   nycrunningmama @losinggrace The first 25 min felt great and I questioned whether I should have made them faster...but those 6 min (esp the 5k pace) were tough and then the first 10 min back at the goal/half MP were not the easiest. Crazy how it made 7:15 feel like recovery pace! Ha =) 2w
  •   deekin Wow that's amazing!! 2w
  •   maidaros Thanks.. I have been working more on heart rate for the last 9 months to manage a better marathon pace.. But it have effected my speed alot :( 2w
  •   run1206 That's looks like an awesome ladder workout! Great job! 2w
  •   stuftmama Love it!!!! I have to try this! :) 2w
  •   kayleighferg This motivated me to do my fastest 7 miles ever. 7:54 pace. So proud 😀 I know that's slow for you speedy ladies, but I'm the happiest person ever right now! Haha 2w
  •   nycrunningmama @kayleighferg that's amazing!!! Congratulations! And that IS speedy! 2w
  •   dlittleone Did this exact workout today! It's a good one! Thanks for sharing! 4d
