musingsofamartin Cu Chi Tunnels, Vietnam. 3w
  •   robynedgar Oh my goodness... Not very big!! How did everyone go??? 3w
  •   musingsofamartin @robynedgar big kids did 100m of tunnel (the most you can do) and Darcy did 40m? I think. He was paranoid about trapdoors since we had just been shown all the hideously savage ones before we hit the tunnels. Very dark, hot and small. 3w

musingsofamartin We visited the Cu Chi tunnels today. An eye opening insight into guerrilla life and experience during the Vietnam War. Those tunnels were TINY. This one has been 'widened' so that tourists can fit. 3w

  •   musingsofamartin I know @heather_hawk built for tiny Vietnamese 32kg soldiers. Allied Soldiers ended up having to train 'tunnel rats' that they recruited specifically to be able to handle the tiny tunnels and claustrophobia in an attempt to destroy the VietCong's intricate 250km of 'booby trapped' tunnel systems. I learnt so much today! 3w
  •   heather_hawk So fascinating. You read about it but it's so different to see it like this! Did the kids like it? 3w
  •   _sarah_o_ Wow. I would never!!!!!! Serious claustrophobia over here 3w
  •   littlepinwheel Wow!! 3w
  •   robynedgar Not sure that Nanna would fit!! 3w
