• mishobaranovic Today Seanna and I visited the Stasimuseum in Lichtenberg Berlin. The Museum is located in the headquarters of the former Ministry for State Security (MfS). The Ministry site is made up of a large block of buildings measuring some 20 hectares in area. Approximately 8,000 employees were at the complex the day the wall came down, in 1989. The Museum provides an eerie insight into the history, workings and techniques employed by the Stasi. The highlight of the Museum was the extraordinarily well preserved offices of the Minister of State Security, Erich Mielke. Being able to see, touch and even smell one of the most guarded and secret spaces in all of the GDR was fascinating. There are nine photos in this series.
