miriamtribe I can't explain why, but I had an overpowering desire to recreate this gorgeous organic dairy picture from @marthastewart @marthastewartliving with handmade paper. I used dandelions, lemon rind and brown paper bags for the various colors, and my kid's @alextoys #papermaking kit. It's not as voluptuous as the original, but it still has that lovely texture and organic appeal #art? #papermaking 7h

miriamtribe Our progress. I know it looks pretty simple (and it is) but I'm pretty proud of it. Here's my question though: the top is poplar, but the only legs we could find are oak, and then we discovered we needed supports which are made of alder. So staining is sort of out with all that wood variation, but what about painting the legs/supports white and then staining the top? (a light natural color) Thoughts? #breakfastnook #cornerbench 3w
  •   daniellebwilson Sounds perfect! 3w
  •   uberchiccheap I think that's a great idea! 3w
  •   meredithtutt Perfect! 3w
  •   photomatoux I just put in a white oak floor and poplar trim. They actually look good together! Still the husband says the trim will have to be painted white... 3w
  •   miriamtribe @photomatoux that's sounds so pretty, and Ps you ha e the most gorgeous style. 3w
  •   kristintree Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe do a herringbone stain on top? 3w
  •   miriamtribe @kristintree so what is that? I haven't heard or seen it I don't think..? 3w
  •   kristintree I'll find a link, but basically, you use different colored stains to create a herringbone affect. 3w

miriamtribe Passing the night, so slowly, here in the RTU at #primarychildrenshospital. Tiny pulled out her g tube, and I didn't notice until 2 hours later and the hole had closed. After 3 hours we finally got it open and a new button in, but it was seriously no fun. #gladthatsover 4w
