  • megan_morton Weekends are for lovers, flowers and making. Seeing its getting a little cold outside, we are upping the heating at the studio and filling the upcoming weekends with all sorts of classes. Today we are knitting pug egg cozies (I know, I can't wait - not long now); next weekend its my Science of Styling Masterclass (for anyone who has a styling inclination or a reoccurring creative itch that needs scratching) and the following weekend has double craft action over Saturday and Sunday - Joanna Fowles Shibori Scarf and her full day screen print class and Tamara Maynes macramé 101 planter and Tassel Garland.   • megan_morton Mandatory Mothers Day Gifting List for 2013 reallt should include flowers (insert your fave local florist - remember Mothers Day is their Christmas!) and something thoughtful. At my Mum Shop (it's a pop up online and a bricks and mortar at the MLC) we have photographs of exquisite dead flowers and pineapples, divine paper collage flowers by James Gordon, knitted apple covers (made by a real granny mother) as well as pineapple cookies as large as a pizza by Nadine at Flour & Stone and pineapple chopping boards. Pinatas big and small and incredible cushions from Arent and Pyke. For the mother who has everything an Egyptian antique chandelier and neon signs that say 'No. 1' and to keep it straight up, 'mum' in pink cursive. I love my mum (please come on Instagram Sue Hall!) and I love being a mum (wish you guys weren't on Instagram!) and want to invite you all to upload pics of your own mum, you with your mum or people you are a mum too. I'd like to suggest we call insta-call it #motherpride . Whose up? No challenges, no vingettes (only if you want to!), no prizes just sharing the wonder that is motherhood. #motherpride   2w

  • megan_morton It pains me (truly) to post such a practical pic given all the beauty I've been soaking in this week in melbourne. I'm actually drowning in it and if I posted the things that have gone on it would possibly close down the world wide web. Its been THAT good. So this is a practical post in every way. Consider it your Instagram Blind Date Invitation. Take it to the next level and meet your insta friends in the real world. It's a 4.30 start tomorrow at the magnificent @dumbofeather at Small Giants HQ, 11 Princes St St Kilda. We will be drawing the Insta Treasure Hunt prizes that afternoon and Raph's Taco Truck serving Melbourne's finest. And in the words of Yenda Lee, "Come meet my team!" our Melb teachers are all coming ... @rachelcastleandthings @kararosenlund @stephanie_somebody @trophywifenailart as well as some adorable insta (and some interstate) favorites. It's free and open to all. We just want to thank Melbourne for welcoming us with such open arms - and celebrate all the incredible bricks and mortar stores this fine city offers. Oh and while this has no practical relevance whatsoever, it gives me great joy to let you know we have our own bricks and mortar shop. And there is not a flower (dead or living) insight.
