jojo_loveslife The crazy beautiful Pythonbrug (or Python Bridge) in Amsterdam, so named because of it's shape.
I wasn't brave enough to cross this but looking at John's shots the view would have been well worth it😬

jojo_loveslife In about 1650 Jacob Van Ruisdael painted a landscape that typified his native Netherlands: two windmills, a large church on the horizon, a thatched cottage with a lady in a red dress giving something to a little boy, a dying tree, a rutted road, a river with a little bridge. Low horizon. Lots of clouds.

About 200 years after it was painted, John Constable, who respected Ruisdael greatly, copied it very accurately in every way, but he added a man in a red coat on a horse, and a boy walking beside them, bottom right.
Nearly 200 years later (in fact earlier this year), the Ruisdael was copied again by Walter Kershaw, but on a much larger scale. Kershaw is known as Britain’s first graffiti artist, as he has been painting walls for over 40 years, both illegally and legally. He is the most recent artist to add to Dulwich Outdoor Gallery, the collection of street art inspired by works from Dulwich Picture Gallery’s permanent collection. In the main he has copied it amazingly accurately, but has also made additions and changes to the original Ruisdael composition.

Kershaw has added a third, modern windmill, a wind turbine. There is a large Spitfire in the sky. Why? Kershaw explains that Spitfires are also powered by wind and anyway he just likes Spitfires, and the sky needed something more. Perhaps in the same way that Bourgeois liked men on horseback and the foreground needed something more.
Kershaw, 74, sat on scaffolding for 10 days to create this astonishing mural. On a couple of afternoons he offered passing children the opportunity to make their additions to the bottom of the wall, where the river is in the original. With the help of POW, he painted a continuation of an existing hedge on which people could add flowers, insects and butterflies to his original masterpiece.
So history repeats itself. Constable copied Ruisdael, Kershaw copied Constable; Bourgeois added to Ruisdael’s painting, and here local children are adding to Kershaw’s painting – but this time under the master’s tutelage.
