jannelle_althoff After a tough day, watching Greg teach the girls how to cast a fishing line was a nice reminder to focus on the now and appreciate the moment. It was too late to catch any fish but next time the girls will be prepared. Tomorrow is a new day with new possibilities. Thanks dad, @dccarlson for the fishing pole! 2h

jannelle_althoff As our wonderful month in the mountains is soon approaching an end I find myself fighting off anxiety and fears of all the coming up uncertainties. It seems to be a theme for us, trusting God month by month for a place to call home, for provisions, for health. We do what we can to our best ability and trust God to meet us where we can't. And I have no room to complain bc we have chosen to live adventurously and desire to use our lives to serve beyond ourselves. And looking back at our story so far, I see God weaving a story that is more about our hearts... the healing, restoring, character and quality of who we are and not so much about the ease and comfort of life we have. So we may not have a place to call home for the next month (yet) but as for me, I will continue to trust.
Here's a passage from the Bible that really encouraged me today. Maybe it will encourage you too. “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. (Matthew 6:30-34 MSG)
