iliskadreams So apparently we now have eggs on steroids. Either fatty has started looking laying or this us what Pav gave us after no egg for three days. 18h

iliskadreams Teaching myself how to knit...with help from YouTube. So I can cast on...very slowly 2d
  •   iliskadreams @typicallyred I wasn't happy after a few rows,so unraveled and started again with a smaller needle 2d
  •   typicallyred Ah yes, takes 2d
  •   typicallyred Oops! Takes a while to get your head around gauge and needle size. 2d
  •   iliskadreams @typicallyred my needles are fron the op shop. So old needle sizes are worn off. So no idea what size I am using. I want to make a 'chunky' cushion cover so I thought big needles. Turned out 'holey' so now using skinniest needle. Six rows in and it is looking better. Plus it was a total guess how many stitches to cast on. I thought 60 sounded like a good even amount. Ha., yep it is all guess work for me 2d
  •   typicallyred Big needles + big wool = chunky. Fine wool on big needles gives you loose stitches. Vice versa too. If you can find some 12ply chunky/bulky wool and 6-7mm needles you'll be set. Knit a swatch (cast on, say, 20 stitches, knit about 10cm) and measure the width. Then you can work out how many stitches to cast on for your cushion cover. Have fun!! 2d
  •   iliskadreams @typicallyred thank you so much for the help. Only YouTube how to cast on. Still have a lot of learning to do. 2d
  •   tatt1702 Lol. Cast on is about all I can do these days. Once I was almost at cable. :) 2d
  •   iliskadreams @tatt1702 what is cable? 2d

iliskadreams Sewing gods not on my side tonight. With one boy at work and one asleep, I thought I would have plenty of time to sew. Hmm not when you break a needle. With vision as bad as mine it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. 2w
