heyitssampson Usually when I make something in less than ten minutes it's terrible... This isn't great but now I have millions of ideas. Creativity comes from creation. 1w

heyitssampson Sketch I did a while back when thinking about getting back into art. 1mon
  •   gabrielleannamarshall Naval Gazing? 1mon
  •   heyitssampson @gabrielleannamarshall means being outwardly into yourself, if that makes sense? If a band plays super self indulgent music that's all about how amazing the musicians are you would call it "masturbatory naval gazing." In my mind Instagram is that in a sense so it's kind of a self deprecating joke. In other words, don't take me seriously, because I don't ;P 1mon
  •   heyitssampson For the band analogy, it would be more along the lines of them all staring at each other and completely ignoring the audience 1mon
  •   timberadventures Nice Strangers make more sense than Naval Gazing 4w

heyitssampson That moment you realize you're not very good at free hand embroidery and you're pretty sure you just ruined something but you're too sleep deprived to be able to tell if it was cool or not in the first place. Yeah, good night everybody. 1mon
  •   heyitssampson I thought I was @dirtyneedleembroidery for a minute... I'm not. 1mon
  •   dirtyneedleembroidery I don't see any difference? That's how all my early stuff turned out, you gotta mess with every tension setting, needle, feet, drop the foot dogs and play with stabilizer and materials including thread types, I use Madera mainly which is more expensive than drugs and Floriani thread which sucks a bit but has a cheaper price and mas colour 1mon
  •   heyitssampson @dirtyneedleembroidery thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look that up. I'm fine using cheap stuff for myself and to practice with but if I'm making something for someone else I want it to be perfect 1mon
  •   dirtyneedleembroidery @heyitssampson there was no helping for me, just trial and error so if you need help skip all that bullshit and just ask. It'll save time and money, it helps to be a decent tattooer or illustrator a lot, then do the trial and error shit... You can actually make texture and everything. It gets very interesting... I've only been sewing for about 11 months max, when you talk embroidery that is... 1mon

heyitssampson That moment when you realize you just turned a simple project to test some new process out into a 2 and a 1/2 hour endeavor and you have a zebra print scarf with a leather corner and you start cutting black fabric for a trim and you should probably sleep but you don't want to because you're excited for your ridiculously over produced piece to be finished. Yeah that's where I'm at. 1mon
