Hopefully your attachment was to the love, quality and skill that went into your experience and not just a brand name. The people there made you keep coming back because they are good at what they do and love their jobs-meaning they could find work any cafe they choose. Since a majority of them chose to stay that should really say something about blue bottle as a company. Change is hard for us all including your baristas who believe in blue bottle so you should too. 7d
  •   lanimaka @theredfox glad you're hyped up about this blue bottle stuff. Me, not so much. It's the concept and quality of service I fell in love with. Both of which have been compromised. Sorry I don't feel the same way as you do. I'm always there. Service has already declined and the quality is already (now) inconsistent. That's the cost of selling out and growing, I get it. Just not my thing. I fell in love with the coffee of the people, not the coffee of profits (and expansion). 7d
  •   theredfox @lanimaka sorry to hear that things have been inconsistent...I'm sure all the changes the employees are going through have something to do with that. I'm pretty confident it will bounce back soon since handsome has a pretty talented crew. Think of it like a remodel of your house, it's gonna take patience. Maybe instead of focusing only on the fact that it's a growing business look at the big picture. Once it's up and running give it a chance. Also if the money/growth thing is such a concern you might want to think a little more about that. Wouldn't you want your business to grow? Don't you want to make more money in your own career? Do you like the economy to be strong with plenty of jobs for people? All businesses grow. The cellphone you're using is from a huge corporation, the car you're driving and the oil it's using is too. Specialty coffee places that are profitable are supporting families globally. In my opinion places like blue bottle, Stumptown and intelligentsia are growing businesses that benefit those involved and we're fortunate to have lots of money in their hands. By all means support the small guys so they too, can grow. Happy fourth! 7d
