frybowrunner Fun time checking out new trails today. Stopped here for a quick photo op before continuing on my way in the other direction all the way to Stewartville. By the time I got home I covered 24 miles and 4100ft of #upness. A good confidence booster kind of day. 4d

frybowrunner Dipping one's hat in some cool creek water is a life saver on these hot days. I was so happy to find that there was still some water here at my secret spot. 6d

frybowrunner Mid-long run at Black Diamond Mines Regional Park this morning. I finally went up that steep hill by the cemetery. It had a 46% grade at one point. I almost stopped part way up a little worried if I could get down safely, but I kept moving upward. Lucky, there was this alternate way down. Glad I didn't give up. I would have missed this view. Looking east here with the delta/Central Valley in the distance. 2w

frybowrunner Shot from my Mt. Diablo summit run last week. Quite a few of my miles were through last September's fire ravaged areas. Regrowth is happening, but it takes time. Pretty sure the kitty kats are much happier on my side of the mountain. 2w

frybowrunner Branches crashing, feet pounding, and dust flying is what it is like when a mountain lion is in full pursuit of some deer for breakfast. This is what I heard as I was about to come to a trail intersection this morning and transition from a single track to dirt road. They came running at full speed down the fire road trail about 20 or 30 yards from me and ran right on by. Amazing to see the mountain lion in full stride. Apparently she got the deer, there was a loud screech and the chase stopped. I slowly turned around and went back down the way I came since this all happened right where I was about to go next. I'm good with not seeing it again though. 2w
  •   frybowrunner @marybernsen Thanks Mary, glad you like the photo. A little scary realizing she is hanging out right where I run my regular loop and a regular trafficked area by hikers. But then again, this is where most of the deer hang out. Duh. 2w
  •   frybowrunner @gregknottlemond It got my attention, that's for sure! 2w
  •   mtbader Whoa. 2w
  •   run_amer_run I hate saying this but we should be so thankful for the deers!! where was that?? 2w
  •   frybowrunner @run_amer_run You got that right! This was on Mt Diablo, Regency Trail head, about a mile and a half in along the Donner Canyon Rd. Trail. 2w
