freshlypieced Okay, it's getting dry and I think I like it! My only complaint is that the fabric looks wet, so the wood is showing through from behind the background fabric. So, to the Mod Podge experts out there, I don't suppose that will go away when it dries more? If not, what should I have done to prevent it? 4w
  •   re_engineered I really like it with the wood showing through!! 4w
  •   blueskycrafter I think it will go away (or at least lessen), but I actually really like it with the wood showing through. I'd bid on it. :) Is it purely decorative, or is it for something? 4w
  •   michelledale79 I agree that painting the wood white would help or even modge podge some white fabric first as a base. 4w
  •   kreatives_von_mir Paint the wood white before. 4w
  •   shannonebrinkley I'm pretty sure they also have a matte finish modge podge.. 4w
  •   cuttopieces The wood will still show through. I agree with other solutions to change or fix it but I think this is fun! 4w
  •   sewfreely 4w
  •   awall0526 Use thin layers. And let dry 24 hours or more between. Makes it less sticky. 4w

freshlypieced Aaand now it looks like this. Yikes. 4w
  •   theresacg83 It's just wet right? Looking forward to seeing it when it dries. 4w
  •   kristastitched It's gonna be so cool! Bust out the hair drier if you're feeling impatient 4w
  •   vchristenson It'll dry clear. It will be cool :) 4w
  •   salamanda001 Mod podge works, just be patient and give another coat for good luck 4w
  •   abrightcorner I always panic at this stage thinking surely I've ruined it. 4w

freshlypieced Hmmm. So I used the Mod Podge to glue the fabric to the wood and now I'm letting it dry before I go over the whole thing. Feeling skeptical that this will actually work. (This is a preschool silent auction project, btw.) 4w
  •   purplepenguinsdesign I'm interested on how it turns out. Mod podge is the grafters duck tape! I think it's really cool and I would totally bid on it! I love the trees on the tree!! Very cool Lee!! 4w
  •   alaskarenee Looking forward to how it turns out- awesome idea :) 4w

freshlypieced I have Mod Podge and I'm not afraid to use it. Okay, I'm a little afraid, because this is sort of a weird project I'm embarking on, but I'm charging ahead anyway! 4w
  •   nohatsquilts Oh how this stuff brings back fond memories :) 4w
  •   vchristenson You can do it! 4w
  •   peartreestitching I just bought my first jar too! If it's not fabric, I'm kinda hesitant to try it! Haha 4w
  •   cuttopieces I just did this with Caitlyn, scraps of fabric and a canvas. And then let her douse everything with glitter glue. Lol 4w
  •   valbetweenquilts You've got me curious 4w

X-Pro II Lee Heinrich
freshlypieced #tbt My youngest at just a few weeks old, sporting an epic and 100% naturally-growing Mohawk. She was my silly girl right from the start. :) 1mon
  •   annoriginal265 My son had a jet black mohawk which morphed into Ultra blonde. 1mon
  •   freshlypieced @living4himjoshayden Yep, she was born with what looked like a little shark fin, and it developed into this within a few weeks. She had this until she was probably 8 or 9 months old, when her hair finally got long and heavy enough to weigh it down. :) 1mon
  •   frampuna Love that 1mon
  •   vpquilter At least she had hair! No hair for my girl until 4yr..really! 1mon
  •   sarahkrothe That's the best! 1mon
  •   julieqquilts You do realize this is one of those special photos you'll want to share at her wedding rehearsal dinner 1mon
  •   freshlypieced @vpquilter Yep, the no-hair thing was my older daughter, bald as a cue ball until she was 2. LOL 1mon
  •   freshlypieced @julieqquilts lol, absolutely! 1mon
