for_my_lady Tried drawing "Spirit" style haha I drew this freehand on my iPad without looking at anything. This is for @ashley_colip she described the horse to me and I drew it. And I know that she likes the name Tequila so that's what I named her 1d

for_my_lady It is one thing to take photos of horses without riders or people influencing them and call it “derp”, but these photos tell a different story:
I am routinely appalled by some equestrians. The fact that people are desensitized to the faces horses make when they are CLEARLY in pain is appalling. The fact that people anthropomorphize horses as “derp” and “leedle leedle lee” and “Durrrrrrr” is appalling.
I am not bashing the riders, Im not bashing the horse and rider pairs… but the fact that photos like this get so much positive feedback such as “saderpday” is heartbreaking.
Whether these photos were 1 moment in time, or the whole ride looked like this…. Whether the riders were making corrections, or the horses were high in energy…its still appalling that equestrians think these horse’s faces are funny. Everyone makes mistakes, but mistakes caught on camera that “showcase” a horses pain are not funny! Learn from mistakes! Dont just shrug at them and laugh!
And maybe your justification is “well I bet they are better riders than you”… Well ok… but at what point do you think that equestrians ignore all signs of pain and are blinded by their own denial?
Would a dog reacting to being stepped on make you laugh and smile? Would a picture of a childs face reacting to pain make you laugh and smile? I would hope not
These are some of many sad cases of equestrians ignoring a horse’s distress because they wanna laugh and pretend it’s all okay. GREAT. If you cannot recognize that these horses are in distress, you seriously need to re-think your abilities to read animal behavior.
If you were scrolling through your dash/feed and you saw any of these pictures and started laughing, ya might want to think about whats really going on in this moment in time.
DO NOT harass people who post photos such as this
DO NOT cause drama by trolling on peoples pictures
What can YOU do?
Don’t spread the ignorance.
Refuse to like any photos such as this
If you are photographer, try not to post pictures similar to this. They desensitize the public to horses pain.

for_my_lady How is Nitro's conformation? He is 4years old. Please comment, thank you ! 5d
  •   ava_collins Pretty nice 5d
  •   red_temptation What breed!? @for_my_lady 5d
  •   alex_m0nroe His hocks are set back a bit and maybe relax the angle of his neck but other than that he's beautiful! Good muscle tone and coat 5d
  •   sevva_p He is butt high/ downhill (he may grow out of it), camped out in the back (his hind legs are too far back unless he is gaited), and his pasturns are a little to straight/ short. He needs some more muscle along his topline and in his hindquarters. His neck has more muscle on bottom than top (thats what it looks like in this picture). He is a very gorgeous horse. 5d
  •   for_my_lady @sevva_p he is Morgan 5d
  •   never_forget_the_canter His butt is set high but besides that really good 5d
  •   pretty_the_red_dun Sfs? 2.2k 5d
