emiliebrehm Do you put a tree stand inside your galvanized bin or do you do a wooden "x" at the base of the trunk? This is the first year we didn't use a tree stand and I don't think our trees are drinking!
emsuwabu We have one of those standard green metal stands that fit in the tub just perfectly, but this year we have a living tree so it's in a pot of soil, and then in the tub to catch extra water. Did you cut a bit off your trunk before you set yours in? I know they can sort of seal off and won't suck up as much water if you don't...maybe that's why?
emsuwabuHomeschooling with my feet up - Fantasia on a Friday night as part of our orchestra unit! (And crossing my fingers that this will actually post without IG crashing which has been happening too much lately)2w
emsuwabuShe is really excited to be in on the presents and decorating for her sister's birthday. I am hoping this excitement will soften the blow when I tell her (when?) about Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth and Sugar Fairies, because I plan to invite her to "be" them with me for her siblings. As a homeschooler, the truth hasn't been divulged to her by a peer and I imagine that I will need to at some point so it isn't awkward or embarrassing for her to find out from a friend at say, 14. Any other parents have advice or experience to share on this?4w
sunshineandgrey We start to drop hints and then let them into the making magic fun once they know. Usually by 10-11. My 3rd one is in on it this year. Only one left.
borderstories My eldest believed last year, not this year.... Second son still does . More to write back later...
emilykrajniak I think she'll realize on her own. I chose not to believe any talk of santa not existing, i believed for a looong time, but then started to notice Santa and my Mother had the same handwriting...and then still chose to fully believe awhile longer let her enjoy the magic, there's nothing embarrassing about believing in magic
tanialeeds My eldest (12) seemed to naturally move on, on her own. She started helping with the others birthdays and other 'fairy' events this year. Which she was excited about. Her birthday and Christmas will still be done without her though, so she still has the magic.
