cypressfoss Minty has managed to slice his shoulder open by running full-speed into the base of a garden chair. His only comfort is clinging to his mum & morsels of roast chicken! 1d

cypressfoss An entirely necessary repost from the kitchen of @kittensmithers. I showed these to my husband. He never looks at me like that. They need their own Puccini soundtrack. 3d

cypressfoss for my soul mates :)

  •   cypressfoss I am watching it for the third time in my life, & it's as fresh as if it were made yesterday @anitamertzlin @dianafavell. I just sit & am transported into a state of bliss by all of the whimsical beauty & wisdom in this series. I feel SO at home in Cicely, Alaska 3w
  •   anitamertzlin Actually filmed in Roslyn Washington state. I've been there! Hence 'Roslyn's cafe' where the moose strolls past the sign on the walk in the starting credits. Friends in Seattle bought Fleishmans chopping block and albino owl when the series finished. X 3w
  •   wandering_homebody Genius 3w
  •   cypressfoss This is fabulous @anitamertzlin ️!! 3w
  •   collagephotoart Hi Michelle, going down the IG rabbit hole I came across this!! Ed Chigliak and Chris in the morning...I can't believe I have found a fellow devotee of this quirky, beautiful show... I have the whole 6 seasons on DVD... Just love it!!! 2w
  •   cypressfoss good morning @collagephotoart! Yes, yes, yes - me too . I love this series beyond description; it is certainly my favourite thing ever to appear on our television sets. I think adolescents should have to study it as part of our school curriculum! We all have so much to learn about human nature & how to live comfortably in our own skins, from the folk of Cicely, Alaska. Sometimes an episode is so beautiful I can hardly believe it. 2w
  •   collagephotoart I know what you mean...the settings, the characters, the dialogue..(Marilyn and Fleischman..classic)...sigh.. Too many others to mention...wouldn't that be wonderful if it was studied... in a perfect world...lovely to have "met" you... 2w
  •   cypressfoss you too @collagephotoart :) 1w

cypressfoss when you are absolutely the last people to leave the restaurant :) 4w
  •   shelleydark No way cypress!!!!!! A whole book??? Wasn't there a TV series once where the family cook was a Chinese person????? Oh! I know! PONDEROSA!!!! Little Joe and Hoss and Adam and Daddy! 4w
  •   thisbloominglife @shelleydark how are you even clever enough to type this out? Xxx 4w
  •   shelleydark Dunno Alison. @thisbloominglife 4w
  •   simong9 Good to see some things never change 4w
  •   massimoh @linocut I haven't been to The Flower Drum for twenty years. The first time was with Daryl Carnahan when he designed it! @cypressfoss I'm such a pleb, I dream of finding an old fashioned Chinese cafe / restaurant somewhere with a wrinkled chef where they still make the Australian versions of Chicken Chow Mein and Chop Suey. Apart from enjoying tasting and eating them, I wish to de-construct them so that I cook them at home. My god, I forgot to mention the original dim sims, but I have that original recipe which was on the web for a split second before it was pulled. 3w
  •   cypressfoss It has certainly suffered a few hiccups @massimoh, but it's back to greatness now. I asked Cliff to make me a chicken chow mein on the weekend, but he became diverted by a recipe for shepherd's pie (with too much cumin in it - but it was delicious anyway). Eating those dishes would count as a 'retro' dining experience now, don't you think? When Daryl returns we must all get together for a meal & Cliff can tell you the story about the barrister who ended up in the dim sims!!! xx 3w
  •   massimoh Thanks @cypressfoss , it looks like I'll have to ask Cliff for his chicken chow mein recipe. I've heard lots about his cooking so I bet it is a good one! We cooked Jane Lawson's sensational lamb shank recipe over the weekend. She is masterful with unusual flavours. I'll photograph and email Cliff the recipe next time I'm back from the farm. - Max xx 3w

cypressfoss after the mildest first month of Winter I think I've ever known, the day when I have to somehow hold open two massive glass doors whilst a truck-full of furniture we have hung onto for 5 years is finally loaded-up & motored-off to be auctioned, dawns. Believe me it's not the only drama to assail me this week, but as Ally McBeal once reminded herself, "I have my health, I have my health, I have my health"... 4w
  •   cypressfoss That's it. I'm defrosted beautifuls. I just know I'm bound to be a furniture removalist in my next life; god knows I've had enough practice! Cheezels & wine got me through. (When will I ever grow up?). p.s. Oh I so love you two xx @thisbloominglife @shelleydark 4w
  •   thisbloominglife I'm doing the royal we... We looooove you! Some of my favourite people are removalists. We had a gang for our many and complicated moves who still drop in to say hi. Love them too! Sleep well. Xxx @shelleydark @cypressfoss 4w
  •   tuppenny_farm Xxxxxxx my thoughts and good humoured jesting ride with you this next month. 4w
  •   cypressfoss I think someone's keeping a book on which one of us will drive the other to physical violence first P @tuppenny_farm xoO 4w
  •   cypressfoss But it's freezing @lizmmorgan! 4w
  •   cypressfoss @indeeddallas thank-you!! xo 4w

cypressfoss this image is brought to you by my navy fingerless gloves, which are giving the romance in me wings {even whilst along my muddy old road} xo 1mon
  •   rosemadder1 How could I have missed this? @cypressfoss hope you have a nice big fire going Michelle. 3w
  •   cypressfoss I hadn't seen the sun for 3 weeks Robin, then I came down to Melbourne yesterday & there it was! Hope you are well @rosemadder1 xo 3w
  •   rosemadder1 No sun today I fear, mid winter gloom. I am well apart from a sprained ankle (which I didn't do the right things for, so it still swells) and the yearning for a holiday (Bali in October looks good?). @cypressfoss 3w
  •   cypressfoss Oh NO about your ankle . That is so painful & bloody inconvenient. I was just thinking this morning (between wiping-up the latest pee & spending 10 minutes chopping chicken necks into small-dog-sized-portions), that I need a holiday SO badly I ACHE. But it's not going to happen this year. Sigh. I will just have to read & re-read my bedside book on Happiness via a Buddhist way of thinking... Bring on the Inner Peace! (I've actually just read the article in the Australian magazine on Stuart Rattle.... It is just so, so sad. Hauntingly sad. I am reminding myself to treasure each day, grey clouds & drizzle & all. I really could do without the dog pee though :) @rosemadder1 xx 3w
  •   rosemadder1 Yes, thank you re ankle and inner peace....so right to treasure each day. Altho' I don't think I've had a proper holiday for 3 years? You? I think I was just so tired and headachy last week (and it was windy) that I fell in the park chasing a dog of course! Caught my foot and planted my face on the ground, lucky not to be concussed I guess. The joys and drudgery of pet owning...I KNOW...feel yr pain. Visiting dog had huge barf on Persian carpet last weekend and later RAf lifted his leg on the corner of the bed!!!!!! in territorial jealousy re said visiting dog. Horrors. Never mind, at least We've Got Our Health as they say. If u are back in melb sometime and feel like a coffee that wld be great. Therapy for the pet owners! altho' I only have one at the moment so not hard. @cypressfoss ps I'm going to look out for ' a stingy ray of sunshine.....' for you. 3w
  •   rosemadder1 Where u been? @cypressfoss missing the poetry...and the long frosty views. 1w
  •   cypressfoss Gah. Been in a black hole @rosemadder1. Emergence imminent! (even though there's still 6 weeks of Winter to go ). It can't get any worse! And I apologise for not getting back to you after your last comment. Meant to & then the days went by... Absolutely will let you know when I'm in your patch again :) And yes I did get a chopping block! Can't tell you how dismal the weather has been here.... Blah! But I've got a handle on it now 4d
  •   rosemadder1 Dear @cypressfoss great to see u back, have been looking for ray of sunlight to photograph for u but unrelentingly grey in melb. Understand all abt black holes, hope u are near breakout and when u do it might mean a trip to town. Hope u are keeping warm. X 3d
