budgettraveller Housed in a typical rural Madeiran house on it's rugged wild north coast, 13 bedroom eco rural retreat 'Solar De Bica' with a children's corner, free espressos and tea (& honesty bar ) biological and locally sourced breakfast with home made jams, heated indoor swimming pool and sauna, sitting room with a fireplace to read or just simply to gaze out of the window and see the Sao Vicente valley shrouded in early morning mist-this is the perfect place to escape... The owners also organise bespoke walking tours that includes the 'levadas' (water channels) typical of Madeira , making of 'espetada' ( meat on the 'louro' wooden stick ) and a visit to local limestone quarry. Altogether - a great experience. Prices start at just €120 for 4 bed apartment going upto €138 in peak season while doubles start at €70 going upto €80 in high season. This is luxury of the highest quality on a budget. 2w

budgettraveller Looking back at #youthhotspotsgermany campaign one thing that I did enjoy at the @jugendherberge hostels was the awesome breakfast buffet. Great selection of bread, cold meats, 4 types of cereal, 8 types of tea, 3 types of yoghurt and fruit... Fruit! Yeah.. I know.Really sets you up nicely for the day #youthhotspotsgermany 2w
