btjaxfrisbee This is how jax greets people and dogs entering the dog park.. usually mid-air, frisbee in mouth. Pre-surgery. 1h

  •   __m__r__ I must ask. Is that a water holder he has on his back? I think I need one for my Molly 12min
  •   btjaxfrisbee @__m__r__ it's a harness with a handle , but Ruffwear does make a water holder too. Look at the Singletrack backpack made by them it's awesome. I want one too. 4min
  •   __m__r__ Oh cool! I need one. My little girl overheats easily in hot weather, she can't even stay outside for more than 15 mins max so maybe a water harness would help 3min

btjaxfrisbee Oh come on, resting 24 hours a day with no play allowed isn't THAT bad. Ok it is. He hates it. He wants to climb trees, ride waves and most of all... yes, frisbee. He is getting a little stronger it seems every day. 4d

  •   ohmydog09 Omg. He is SO cute. Don't ever post another baby video!! We can't take all that cuteness!!!!! 5d
  •   speedyboyboy Do you have a disc disease too? Try acupuncture, water therapy and chiro treatments. They worked for me! 4d
  •   btjaxfrisbee @speedyboyboy he had surgery to correct it. It was very bad but we can still do those things you suggested thanks! 4d

btjaxfrisbee Guys, I can't thank you enough for all the support comments and donations. I'm a little over half my goal now. I'm forever grateful.
Jax basically sleeps all day but only because I make him. Still pretty depressed.

A lot of you have asked if he'll ever get to play frisbee again. Probably not the way he used to, but I think if I can keep him from jumping 30ft in the air, then i def think he will.
Thanks again
1w
  •   happycloudz As long as he is still by your side... Catching a frisbee is non essential... Jax is stilll a lil love muffin no matter what. 1w
  •   alexandstitch8 The scar just makes him that much more interesting ;) glad hes doing okay 1w
  •   jillian_mccoy_ @btjaxfrisbee Jax is looking good! I almost get a tear in my eye every time he's on my news feed because he looks exactly like my Daisee did. Wishes for a quick recovery and I will share the funding link to all of my friends and family! :) 7d
  •   btjaxfrisbee @jillian_mccoy_ It would take more than a scar to make him look bad haha. Any pics of Daisee? Sorry to hear of her passing. I'm sure you have a lot of great memories together. And thanks for sharing my link. Appreciate it.=) 7d
  •   jillian_mccoy_ @btjaxfrisbee actually we had a page for all of our Bostons when we had five of them--- we had two aggressive ones, Bailee and Lucee, the sweetest dogs ever, but not with other dogs. We gave them away as soon as They mauled Daisee and there was nothing the vet could do ): my heart is still broken. We retired that page in memory of her but it is still up--- fivelittlebostons :) check it out! 7d

btjaxfrisbee He's very bored but getting lots of rest. He's also not happy being carried everywhere.

Stitches/staples are looking good but he's pretty sore.
And of course he still has awful gas so that hasn't changed. Thanks again for all the support.

btjaxfrisbee He's a bit grumpy and groggy from all the meds but reluctantly posed for this pic. Stitches are looking good.

He lost over a lb but is eating some good chicken and rice and loving it. Thanks again for all the support and hope to pay it forward in anyway I can!!

btjaxfrisbee Barely noticeable...ha.

Just picked him up. He'll have to be confined for about a month. Long recovery ahead but he'll be good to go soon enough.

btjaxfrisbee Link in my profile:

A few of you recommended I set up a Gofundme page for Jax and his $6400 surgery. It's up!
I'm picking him up today. Excited to have him back home. I thank you all so much for all the support and concern you've shown.

btjaxfrisbee Grab some tissue, this is easily a better love story than Twilight.
I needed to kill some time so I headed down to the dog beach a few minutes away from where Jax had his surgery today (still in recovery). I decided to give his beloved frisbee away to the first dog that could catch it. Harder than I thought.

The last dog to come my way was an Australian Shepherd whose owners said she didn't care for frisbees. At all. and had never caught one.

Being the pro that I am, I had her catching it after two 2 throws. I'm obviously magical. She went on to catch around 3 million throws in a row and even barked at a dog that got a little too close to her new toy.

She definitely earned it.

btjaxfrisbee Update: had surgery but just got out. Surgery was a success and he's doing well. Can't see him until Saturday.
C2 & c3 herniated discs. Some of his other discs were about to rupture so he made sure to prevent any future issues with those.
Very costly and dunno how in going to do this so I think I will start a fund. I hat

btjaxfrisbee In the car waiting to see another specialist today to get a 2nd opinion. He's supposed to be one of the best in ca.
All day yesterday he didn't want to move much. Very stiff and his tremors have gotten a but worse. Will get MRI today or hopefully tomorrow. Poor buddy. Thanks for the concern.

btjaxfrisbee Update: neurologist says it's 75% chance it's disc disease and 15% it's meningitis. Won't know until the MRI + spinal tap tomorrow.

Meningitis isn't good as it can be fatal. Best case scenario is that it's disc disease, but chances are he won't be able to play frisbee anymore so it's a pretty shitty deal.

If you've been thinking about getting pet insurance I suggest go for it. As it sits already, it's going to be around 2800-3000 for MRI and spinal tap. Hoping for the best.

  •   boston_cure Good luck Jax! Thinking of you from Australia 3w
  •   liziel502 Hope things turn out okay! 2w
  •   liziel502 I don't know if you're familiar with reddit but I was browsing around the sub for BTs and found this pinned: http://www.reddit.com/r/BostonTerrier/comments/1sunv5/helping_bostons_in_need_please_read/ 2w
  •   liziel502 Ooops: http://www.reddit.com/r/BostonTerrier/comments/1sunv5/helping_bostons_in_need_please_read/ I don't know why the link was broken. But just go to reddit.com/BostonTerrier and it's the first post on top. I just wanted to let everyone know that here at /r/bostonterrier[1] we are more than happy to help boston's in need. Please feel free to post those boston's here and ask for donations if necessary. I find that a lot of times these posts are reported or flagged. Please know that while other subreddits may discourage it, we here at /r/bostonterrier[2] are glad to help. 2w
  •   btjaxfrisbee Thanks @liziel502 really appreciate it. Is that more for like rescue groups I wonder? Getting 2nd opinion for jax tomorrow before MRI. They put them under anesthesia so I want to make certain by getting some eyes on him. I found a good neuro in irvine but he's supposed to be really good. Thanks for caring really nice knowing how many people love jax 😀 2w
  •   btjaxfrisbee * sorry that sounded confusing. What I meant was other eyes on him. I always like to get 2nd opinions just in case @liziel502 2w
  •   happycloudz Oh Sweet Jax... The other day I was looking at my HippoBunny's rescue papers and there was one that listed different organizations that help pay for medical. I know I'm in NY but look it up in your state. Do you have a PayPal account?! 2w
  •   happycloudz So many questions... When is the MRI scheduled? 2w

btjaxfrisbee Nervous yawn at the neurologist 3w

» LOG IN to write comment.

btjaxfrisbee For the last week he's been having tremors. Started happening day after taking a vet sample of his Heartgard med which he has had no issues with for 3 years.
He can't walk very well in the mornings, can't jump off the bed and stiffens up. Seems to get better throughout the day but mornings have been awful.

Blood work\xrays came back as good so vet thinks it's a neurological issue. Seeing specialist on Tues. Hoping it's just short term as he is missing his frisbee.

  •   btjaxfrisbee His surgery went great today @alexandstitch8 happy times. He'll be back at it soon 2w
  •   lil_pistol_whisperer I'm glad to see he's doing well now. This worries me about my boston. He has always had these tremors for as long as I can remember (especially around eating times) I'm going to film it and take him to the vet! 2w
  •   btjaxfrisbee You should they are prone to it but if it goes away and hasn't gotten any worse it could be just a bit of back pain. They can give you steroid shots to help with that. Good luck! @lil_pistol_whisperer and thanks. 2w
  •   puppygarl Aww poor baby 1w
  •   ngcrowe My male Boston has tremors too. He does have a back issue. It does make me feel better to know that others have this. 1w
  •   btjaxfrisbee @ngcrowe sorry to hear poor guy. Have you seen a vet? Might only need a shot to help with pain. 1w
  •   ngcrowe Yes we have. He has been on prednisone which helps greatly but can't stay on them for long periods of time. He just had 4 laser light treatments which seemed to help. He doesn't seem to be in pain and isn't as stiff 1w
  •   btjaxfrisbee Whoa laser light treatments, gotta look into that. Glad he's feeling better. 1w
